There is a bearing on the shaft, its held in with a clamp that's held with a 13mm headed bolt, remove the bolt, pull the clamp away from the housing and then pull.

The shaft should come out as a one piece unit

  3. Done that mate literally won't bastard budge I'm not going to decat my car now I think I'm going to do more damage then good trying to get it out its been a massive paint just going to put it all back together and get the back box chopped for more sound

You might have the plate on yours, remove 2 of number 5 (bolts) and then plate 3 will come off, then should pull straight out, if your removing the cat, you will also need to disconnect the top and bottom stabiliser bars, so you can tilt the engine.
This will give you a bit more room to get the cat out.

  5. Il have another look when I get home later this is what it looks like at the gear box it's literally that half a shaft it's becoming a nightmare

  6. It's probably the bearing case is seized into the mount where it meets the part you've taken out.

I had this on an a Renault traffic I had a while back. Lash it with a penetration fluid and get a hammer & punch to slowly (and very carefully) tap around the outer casing from the gearbox side outwards. Once you get a little bit of movement you'll be away.

The gearbox end in the photo will literally slide out, that end is not the issue .

You could also remove the whole bearing carrier, it's held on with 3 bolts, then when it's on the floor you can see it properly.

  9. Iv removed everything possible the carrier there's literally just that shaft sat laughing at me I honestly thought the job wasn't that bad everything was going smoothly everything come off easy until this been sat under the car for 2 days pulling shouting screaming hitting I'm just about ready to leave it as its just a pita and il end up braking it

Just trying to help you here,

In the Catcar i linked above, remove part four, you have to pull it straight out, not pull it to the side up or down.

The pic you sent of the shaft that goes into the gearbox, that silver bit is just a cover for the seal, it stays on the shaft

  11. Nothing worse than suddenly hitting a problem when things are going so well!

Like Ian said, if you can get the whole carrier off you could get the cat swapped out and refit the shaft without touching the bearing itself.

  14. The axle is stuck in the differential bearing. It happened to me. look at the pictures and it will be clear to you. 0-02-04-7c37e8975f4c718ae2789fe5b96cda579b688042c24a0a210fba909aff2e47ee_df275ccd.jpg 0-02-04-8db62628d3819b226e2625cc7cd22322494a6300432decd15863645cabdabc5a_cffd3e53.jpg 0-02-04-b65ca90e033804fce21f5ff87f9c315d6974f6909a8be5ae71545bacb72b9b7f_9d0f4bbd.jpg

Take it out was a challenge. I can't choose a word but strong nasty

  15. In other words, don't take it out until you buy a new half-axle and gearbox :sunglasses:

  16. Thanks. You have to change the gearbox or it was a plan to change it? I just want to change only half-axe...

  17. it all depends . Replace diff if gearbox is perfect and half axle. I n my case we had to take out a half-axle with gearbox together and apply the persuasion technique. Look at the first picture. Diff bearing must be clean and smooth without scares.

I was lucky to find a gearbox with 10,000km Of course, the axles are also new oem

  18. Ok, thank you for your help and wish me good luck

  19. Another recommendation. If you are buying a new half axle, try to avoid a Renault repaired one. Mine was repaired. It lasted a little over a year. The rubber cuffs on the repaired one are very bad. They are not made to last.
    Good luck
