R26 new handbrake cable too short

  1. Just installed my new dampers and Eibach Pro springs after removing the rear beam to paint it and install some Powerflex bushes. As the rubber end had perished on the drivers side handbrake cable at the calliper I ordered a new handbrake cable but when I tried to fit it, the inner sleeved cable is too short by 1.5-2 inches compared to the old one.
The RPD website has the part number as 8200247041 cable h/brake for an R26 which is what I have been sent. Catcar also has 8200266094 cable frein main. Anyone know if I should have been sent this one instead or what the difference is?

  2. It measures about 2000mm. A Pagid cable on Eurocarparts has a length of 2020mm

Looks like it is the right part number. Wondered whether I could shorten the outer a little, but haven’t bothered. Probably just get another cable and see what that is like. Not sure what Renault charge for a cable but I want to replace my rear beam brake pipe clips as they now have paint on them, so can ask then.
