  1. Thanks to other on here managed to locate the one IC pipe been after for while now as factory fit is worryingly soft and thin arrived from sunny France, silly money though with import tax

  7. with front off yes easy if a little fiddley, need take battery box out, the IC end fitting from old hose (need cut steel band I used Dremel) is used in new hose and the spring clip fits your airtec, make sure three sides of clip have located correctly

  9. Also to note the new hoses come with high quality Miklor clips which are way better than standard clips, v good attention to detail from CLM Racing

  10. Always good to know thank you, their stuff does look very good quality  shame about the import duty I will inevitably have to pay :worried:

  11. had to pay courier before would deliver or said would send back the item

  13. Link for this replacement set?

and if you don’t mind me asking, what did it set back including delivery and silly post brexit import charges?

  14. I think unless CLM racing are registered to collect UK VAT (doubtful), they should be detucting French VAT from the selling price, then the courier should have presented you with a bill to cover UK VAT along with their extortionate processing fee and perhaps a 2.5% duty fee. So I'd say you did well to avoid all that palaver.

I did notice CLM do an intercooler that looks the same design as the Wagner for about £450 - very temped...

  15. Yes did well to avoid courier charge

  16. All fitted, managed with just battery tray removed  do have a rather scratched arm though lol

  17. Has anyone tried that intercooler, looks very similar and a lot cheaper!

  18. It's likely to be Chinese made, so whilst it probably performs as stated I'd be slightly concerned about quality control and the implications that could have for longevity. Mind you that could also apply to the Wagner!

I'd take a punt, especially if they sorted the VAT thing out but I'm trying very hard to kick my tinkering habit.

  19. same, arm still healing
That lower IC clips a handful without taking front off eh !

  20. I’ve currently got the front end off and have full access to this pipe, which is outrageously soft, like you say!

Trying to not spend any more on the car but this is very tempting, especially as it would be so easy. But then again I would also need an aftermarket intercooler which I don’t have yet ...

  21. :grinning::grinning::grinning: Just remember me, in my garage, when we hurt our hands, arms or something, use to say "is another stripe in the tiger skin!":tonguewink::tonguewink:

  22. don’t need aftermarket IC to fit this updated hose, it’ll fit factory IC

  23. I was aircraft engineer on seaking helicopters so working on cars seems easy in comparison some times lol .. cuts heal and scars are cool lol

Clip was a bugger to get at but still worth it over bumper removal

  24. notice you've switch gear cable back to factory position, that cause get ZPO or similar shifter ??

  25. Yes have ZPO shifter I fitted it last week

ZPO advised it was better to use std shift for the shifter so changed it over whilst I get used to it, it can be used with short shift but they said it can cause issues..

Will try both and see which I prefer  but it’s that good in std setting doubt I will swap it tbh

  27. No problem will do my battery box has a square section cut out, no idea why ? But upshot is I can just remove battery to swap it over so once clutch is done will use it for a month or so then try short shift and decide which is best

  28. That’s quite interesting as only 1 or 2 ppl in early days of fitting DIY shifter stud had foresight to cut the hole as back then the thought was the cable might slip off the diy stud and the hole made it roadside reparable
