Abs delete help

  1. I'm possibly looking at abs delete on my 225 I understand I need a bias valve and a few other things I'm just wondering about the lights on the dash and if it can be programmed out the car for mot time I could just remove the leds behind the cluster but my other concern would be that the little white square were the milage appears check abs would still come up for mot is there anyway round this tia

  2. Did you get round to doing this?

Thinking of removing the abs on mine but I'm not 100% sure on what's needed.

Could just pull the ABS fuse

  4. Not sure if the bias is affected with the module disabled?

I haven't looked into that deeply yet tbh, was just a bored weekend thought :tearsofjoy:

ha ha ha go on you can try it for everyone else thats interested :laughing:

  6. Well, decided to take the plunge on this whilst the engine is still out.

Going to order the parts this weekend and see how it goes!

  7. good man, keep us updated on grief factor etc.

    Agreen likes this.
  8. i tried to drive without abs. The car is awful. The rear brakes catch up before the front ones. Ultra unstable. The rear wheel load control fails when the abs lamp comes on.

  9. Did you remove the abs module and fit a bias/proportion valve?

I think if you just pull the fuse or disable the module you'll get equal pressure at the front and rear meaning the rears will lock much more frequently.

  10. Cable problem. After the service intervention, They damaged the front abs cable. I believe the same thing happens when you take off the fuse.
in any case the car becomes unusable for a little faster and more aggressive driving. Rears lock a lot . Much easier and faster than the front ones. Adjusting the braking force of the rear wheels is, I believe, demanding and time consuming

  11. In theory, it's relatively simple.

Remove the abs module and all the existing brake lines, fit new lines to the front, fit line to the rear that goes through a bias/proportioning valve and splits to either side caliper after the valve.

I've ordered some parts so I'll know soon enough and update here with the results!

  12. Well the new lines have arrived, just waiting on the bias valve, may start the process over the weekend.

  13. I'm assuming that the esp and traction control is all disabled once the abs unit is gone?

My only concern is similar to the original poster, can everything be disabled once it's all been removed so there's no lights on the dash etc? I guess I'll soon find out!

  14. Okay, some progress for those who are interested.

Technically, to still past the mot, all the abs paraphernalia should be totally removed. So that would mean the pump itself along with all the loom etc. However, the loom is so messy on these that after unravelling what I could, it would be easier to leave the abs module in place and plugged in! The unit is hidden away behind the heat shield up against the bulkhead, so there's no way an mot tester would see it anyway.

I hope to make more progress over the coming weeks and once complete, will post some more progress pics/explanation for those thinking of doing this in the future.

  15. So I have this set up now, had to change one of the lines from the Proline kit that I linked earlier.

Need to get the car on the road before I can make a real judgement and write up.
