  1. Just a reminder about the new series that's on Sunday at 8 pm. Comparing yesteryear's hot hatches with the new breed. Should be good. Damn sight better than painting and diy'ing all bloody weekend......grrrrr

  2. Stupid predictive text. Series even!

  3. Hopefully it'll be a better series than the last.

  4. Its too staged, but I can't help but watch :-)

  5. I agree totally, but next to down town Abbey or x factor or to be fair anything else on a Sunday evening it's tv gold!

  6. ^+1

  7. Here's to more car and less of 3 old cocks prating around.

  8. Switch on now !!!!!!

  9. have done

  10. What a load of shite , my god is that the best they can do, utter crap

  11. Disappointing. There's a fine line between funny and stupid. They crossed it. Meh

  12. Was the worst episode I have seen. Surely they could have come up with something that was an actual test of modern day hot hatches to old ones and be much more entertaining than that!!!

  13. Dan

    Dan

    Rubbish...

  14. It wasn't that bad but wasn't great either I've seen a better new vs old on there before

  15. What a disappointment.

Totally staged and a waste of what could have been a good test.

I must be getting old because I was thinking what a waste of food it was when it could've went to people in need.

  16. Laughing from start to finish keep it up guys

but please get rid of star in a car so boring

ps sod the people in need they can get a job if need be and dont be fooled by this africa lark their governments take most of it

  17. Thought it was very poor. No actual comparison even attempted, roll on next week with the p1 at least!

  18. Missed it! Sounds like I didn't miss much though!

  19. Missed it too, when's it on repeat?

Missed it last night too, lot of mixed reviews of it!
will have to watch tonight and see for myself.

  22. It was pants. Trying to hard to be funny it was overly scripted. I'll watch the next and if it doesnt get any better I will probably write this series off altogether.

  23. I guess I’d say it was mildly entertaining at points but utterly pointless.
I can’t but think it’s about time they done something with the format to freshen it up. Call me sage like but I’m expecting a race car Vs some other form of transport, and a foreign trip AGAIN.
Will watch next week as I want to see the P1 though.

  24. What a crock of shit!!
Soooo staged, "oh where ar my keys" what a buch of pricks!!
Although I will still watch it as its better than some crap the missus wants me to watch,
    Roll on F1 :-)

  25. i got very bored watching last nights. it will probably be another series of 6 episodes with one or two actually being decent. it is very staged which is annoying but still watch it incase i miss anything lol!

  26. Why have a ST/250/VXR i think it was and not test them against old cars

  27. This. Same with all the plant they had at the end that they did nothing with.

yup i agree now after watching it, piss poor ep.

  29. Poor. It needs new blood/presenters.

Contrary to most, I don't mind Hammod. May is okay if they play to his strengths.

Clarkson is the buffoon of the trio. Trouble is - it's his 'game' so he's never leaving. Franchise is more about the live shows they do now I think - raking in the money - the TV show supports that rather than the other-way round.

BBC should pull the plug on Clarkson and (Andy Willam's?) company and commission another serious motoring program on BBC3 IMO.

  30. U mean wrc or btcc or rallycross surely jon

  31. Dissapointed by it tbh, mildly entertaining, but didn't really compare the hot hatches of the past to now. I know they have a ridiculously tight budget but come on now.

Still next week should be a good episode.

  32. Naa I always have a flutter on button, raked me in a good few hundred in 2012 but lost me a good few quid last year, looking good this year :-)
Fingers crossed he will bring me enough for a hybrid :-)

  33. i find the f1 a bit yawn if I'm honesty can't beat the door handle to door handle racing of btcc three abreast into a corner etc

  34. yep it is a bit vettel, vettle, vettle, but its a sunday afternoon with a beer thing
    and it beats football

  35. I dont mind footy to be fair only problem is being a united fan atm lol

  36. 3 blokes messing around, hasn't been a decent motoring show for years! When cars are released/tweaked/re profiled on a daily basis how can you realistically record them all and coincide with the press drives of the cars? As an entertainment program I enjoyed it. As a motoring program it was shit.

  37. I was disappointed. They could of done a proper test of 80's hot hatches against today's and it could of been just as entertaining, not just for us but for people who watch it for the entertainment.

I agree with the past comments. It needs a rewrite to freshen it up.

5th Gear was my choice of motoring program but the last series of that was turning into Top Gear too. Why can't we have an entertaining motoring series that doesn't try to cater for everyone? I mean the football programs don't do it so why do it for motoring?

Roll on the start of BTCC and maybe F1 will be good to see what difference the new regs make.
