ARB bush change Mk3

  1. I’m hoping someone can give me some advice: I’m thinking about changing the ARB bushes and I can see the mountings through the wheel arch beside the steering rack. But I’m thinking that this still might be a bigger job than it looks because the tightening torque on the mounting nuts is 180Nm. Not sure if there is enough space from the side to get the torque wrench in there and be able to get enough force on it. Anyone else done this job without dropping the front subframe?

  2. If it’s anything like the mk2, it’s definitely a subframe off job.
While you can reach the n/s one easily and undo it, you can’t get the bracket and bush off the anti roll bar with it in situ.

  3. Yeah it's a subframe off job! I'm doing a load of jobs which require the subframe to be off anyway, so I'm fitting some Powerflex bushes but I've put it off until now because of what it involves ...

  4. ARB bolt to subframe is 21Nm
