Door leak via loom. Help!

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Alex Redman, Jan 24, 2021.

  1. After testing I have found my leak it is dripping from the middle of the loom in the pic and then going down in to the footwell.

Not all the wire is wet only this bit so could it be seeping in via that bung at the end or coming in via the bits where the wire is held.

This is the passenger door. It literally drips off the middle of it in that picture at the back end of the door. I'm baffled.

    Any tips all?

  2. It's coming through the wire on this bung I'm not sure how to fix it hmmm.

  3. Silicon sealer around the wire?

  4. That's an idea. It's Def to do with it coming through the wire on the bung so I may try and seal the gap there.

  5. Another option which is easily reversible is a zip tie (or a few) along the loom. Drips of water hit the zip tie and drop off of it, rather than tracking further along the wires. You just want to stop the water from going through the middle of it - maybe a dab of silicone or some bitumen sealant between the wires.

  6. That is a great idea I will do that. Access is almost impossible I can't get the plugs disconnected as I wanted to remove the loom to tape it all up.

  7. It turns out that it's just getting wet pretty much everywhere the seeping down the loom I tried taping the bits I could access.

I have no idea how to get the loom out to see as there is no room at all.
