RS265 injector removal

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Michiel, Mar 25, 2018.

  1. Hi Guys,

I am getting lots of missfire count on idle. mostly on cylinder 1. Changed coil and plug to cylinder 2 but still the same. Car refs fine but has a hesitance ons putting foot down. New spark plugs, swoped coil, FPR.

My buddy has a 250 and we swopped out the FPR just to check and issue still remains.

I want to take out all the injectors to get them clean but does not seem to be a easy task. To do so do i need to remove the intake manifold or can just take the rail off?

    thanks

what position do you think number 1 cylinder is ??? on Renault's number 1 is gearbox end
the fuel rail is easy to remove, 2x 10mm headed bolts and the fuel pipe.

  3. yes i know the position of the cylinders. I know on the mk2 its easy but on the rs 265 it looks like the intake manifold is in the way on the left hand side

I have a mk3 engine in mine and it took RS less than half an hour to fit new injectors and they didn't remove the intake manifold

  5. Thanks bud. Took me 30min and eveything was out. Easy job

  6. Hey guys.

So i took out the injector cleaned them and installed new petrol filter. Took the car to the dyno and thisbis the results. RS Tuning is check and cannot pick up that the car has been mapped, but did do a downpipe.

I am pretty happy with the results 1522155545459.jpg

  7. Hi mate, I know this is a long time ago but cleaning the injectors fix this issue? I’m having the same problem now!

  8. I think it's quite a common issue

Anyone have a guide? I think I have an iffy injector, crap mpg (compared to my old one) some hestiancy some times along with uneven idle

Quite easy, pull off the fuel feed pipe, it will be under pressure if you have driven it recently, also make sure the engine is cold.
Remove the small pipe from the pressure relief valve or the intake manifold.
Then undo the two bolts that hold the fuel rail, there under the manifold, either 8 or 10mm socket required.
Don't just yank the fuel rail out but try to move in a circular motion as your pulling, its the rubbers, they stick.
The rail is full of fuel so be careful where the fuel goes when you upend it.
Pull off the clips and the same with the injectors move in a circular motion as you pull.
