Torque link and firmer engine mounts MRS3

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by oldschoolracer, Aug 30, 2020.

  1. Guys, at Friday I was in Hockenheim "Touristenfahrt", got sometimes troubles with downshifting from gear 5 in 4, didn´t find the path, maybe from hard braking into the north corner, annoying cause it spoils all the corner speed....Any experiences with engine links from Vibra technics torque link? And with the firmer powerflex engine mount insert ? Does it match to each other? Does it eliminate the gear change troubles? Are there any options over the Vibra technics link, they are really expensive....

Off topic: What brake pads would be recommended, I had as well some troubles with the brake, currently Brembo original discs and pads, but about 50tkm on it....have to admit that I have underestimated the Hockenheim brake stress....I would suggest to use better pads but should be suitable for daily use as well, just a weekend warrior. Any recommendations for better brake performance would be strongly appreciated. In the rain, I´ve had bad vibrations whilst braking. Anyway, I could control all 25 cars easily and won the stint against some Porsche GT4....but would try to do this in the dry as well......amazing car behaviour

I filled the gaps in my original mounts with some Marine sealer, let it go off for a couple of days, still has a slight movement and cheaper than the aftermarket mounts, i only did the top and bottom ones, the engine and gearbox mounts are the original ones.

I run Carbon Loraine RC8's still great on the road, never had any problems with lack of feel, great on the track, used a few different pads, PBS, Performance friction Z rated but they faded under hard use, RC8's have never failed on me.

  3. Just do the dog bone mount, take alot of slack out of the engine
