Hi all... This most probably has been covered already so if there is a link to another thread please share... My 225 has been off the road a few years and during lockdown I've been slowly acquiring parts to get it back on the road. This got out of hand a bit and I've now bought an R26 rear beam, R26 front & rear dampers and plan to get whatever else is needed... So what other parts would I have to change? I know I'll need an lsd but would change that when I change the clutch if I wanted too. Thanks
Brembos and wheels unless yours is a cup already, springs are a different rate too. Not sure where the 5 hp difference between models comes from though.
I have the wheels already. I also have cooksport springs. . My 225 has brembos on it, are the r26 brembos different? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the rear brakes are different.
Can I stick with my 225 rear brake set up or would I have to swap out the calipers? Also do you know if the discs are any different? New discs and pads were put on the car before it was sorn'd so like brand new.
You can keep the rear calipers, i kept the original phase 1 calipers, there is a better choice of rear pads but as the rears only contribute about 5-10% of the braking. I tracked the hell out of mine and never suffered any issues with the rear brakes. The phase 1 rear disc's have a smaller stub axle 22mm i think, phase 2 and R26 ones are 25mm i think. In my opinion if you want to do anything with the brakes, get a mk3 front setup on there, pads are cheaper for the mk3 calipers as well.
