Routing battery acid drain tube

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by oldschoolracer, Apr 15, 2020.

  1. Guys,
does anybody know how the routing is ? I pulled my battery tray out and pulled the acid drain tube also confusingly. Didn´t watch how it was routed. Is it behind the gearbox in the driveshaft area? There seems to be a plastic bracket which holds it on, whereever….In the manual is only described how to remove the battery tray and to unclip the drain connection. Don´t see any more information. Probably someone knows where it´s in the manual.

  2. On the mk2 it's routet right in the near of the brake

But you could route it wherever you want. Just out of the bay (or in some area where it's cooler)

  3. Sorry I forgot to say I have a Mk3. I want to route it the right way as it is from stock. The pipe is hard plastic, hardly possible to route it anywhere.

  4. I took my drain pipe off years ago but as i remember its an overflow so should be directed straight down to road surface
