  1. Thought I'd give the old girl a wash b046511300f6ff7f356d47136e09e28a.jpg a1d9716891a0de1b4a445e14028cc7bf.jpg 61455d26237087f03370a0c84325dbc9.jpg 9e2b2fb7cc8e97aa506a0f23f816e965.jpg

Hopefully the filter won’t cause me too much stress!

  5. long reach filter pliers for the win!

  6. Well that oil filter is in a ridiculous location! Even with the filter pliers it took a good 5-10 mins of swearing and as expected got covered in oil.
Replaced the gearbox oil but was surprised how clean the oil was that I drained.
Now onto the fuel filter, fingers crossed I don’t snap any clips!

  7. Didn’t manage to do the fuel filter, had a quick look and the current filter and connections are filthy so I cleaned it up and then couldn’t figure out if the green clips need pulling up or pushing in? Was scared to snap them.

  8. Cleaned mine, for possibly the last time :tongueout:

  9. need to pull clips OUT except nothing much to grab onto, i used pointy knife blade to encourage the clip out of its surround

  12. I need some of these. I cussed and swore for a good 40 minutes

  13. If I recall correctly .... pulling .... not 100% sure .. try both with care , should work out

  14. had mine off in seconds with these...30 fkn mins last time without, and had to resort to the screwdriver through the filter special!

  18. Was it easy removing the black stuff?
I’ll be doing a full detail on my car this weekend hopefully.

  19. If you can remove the bumper it's not too bad

Blade, remove the drls and ballasts then it unclips

    The middle bit just unclips,

There is a lot of clips mind - god knows who designed it lol!

  20. Detailed it today. It’s in need of a full correction which I’ll do later in the year.

  22. Like new Gareth!! I have the cabin very clean always, but the exterior...maybe 2 times at year, and when I clean it, can´t leave so so clean and bright like yours. Any trick??

Ok, I see your thread right now:grimacing::grimacing:

  23. I’d happily spend some time on it. Love detailing cars (used to be a self employed detailer)
I could clean yours and you could do some tinkering on mine

  24. Thanks Manu! I would happily go back to cleaning cars for a living if it was sustainable.
My advice would be watching some beginners videos on YouTube for detailing and have a go. Just set yourself a good 5-6 hours aside when you have a good go at it. Today took me 4 hours.

  26. It’s due a cambelt next year Ian just saying ha ha ha.

  27. Probably a great deal as my car is absolutely shit high, i would have to clean it first before you see it :openmouth:

  28. I bet it’s not that bad Ian, I’ve worked on some absolutely shocking cars in the past believe me! I’ll have to remind you about this next summer then ha.

  29. I think it is, i don't really like cleaning cars, i normally give it a clean before i drive to a track day, especially if it's abroad but by the time i get to Folkestone its all dirty again, so whats the point :rage:

My Espace has not been cleaned in the last 3 years, it a work vehicle :laughing: i do clean the windows now and again

  34. Will get the knee pads out!

  35. No. Have I fucked up?

  36. For best results gap to .6 mm, factory set is .8mm and engine can run slightly less efficiently

  37. Had it in my head that would be for mapped engines. Will order a gap tool, presume it's not too complicated. Cheers for the heads up.

  38. Benefits mapped or not engine, just gives stronger spark than the larger but weaker factory gapped plug
Be super careful when gapping, tap electrode v gentle to correct gap otherwise can damage it and brake off later in engine

  39. Will do, cheers mate.

  40. Got it out, eventually! Having massive hands and finding out eurocar parts supplied me with the wrong replacement didn't help. Will finish it tomorrow once I've been back to to get the right filter!
