Heat wrapped my down pipe before getting fitted. Dont look to bad i reckon lol. Next up injectors and a phone call to rs tuning [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Got a SMF and R26R clutch fitted by Andy at Engine Dynamics. Nice chap and great service. Changed a main bearing oil seal as it was weeping and had to cut the drop links off as they wouldn't budge. Got to book it in for 630 injectors and a remap next, but will see if the airtek intercooler Group buy happens first.
Fitted some PFC Z-Rated pads at the weekend (cheers Kev! @why so heavy). Haven't given them much of a workout yet but with medium usage on road their bite feels quite a bit better than the standard Brembos. Once my cambelt's been changed in a couple of weeks I'll give them some more thorough testing
Not done anything to my car but test drove potentially my new toy. A45 amg. Proper little pocket rocket and so comfy at the same time
Bonkers cars (for the right reasons). Have you looked at the m140i's too? Huge discounts on those at the moment as they are about to switch to the new model.
Ive looked at them mate and although lovely cars with huge power potential the looks just dont quite catch my liking. Think ive got my heart set on the a45 but then i drive the meg and love that again. Now i know what the mrs feels like with bags and shoes haha. Decisions decisions
Yeah it's not the most amazing looking car is it. Always buy with your heart, head purchases are boring!
I was so close to buying an A45, had a passenger ride in a 440 hp one, then drove one on the road, almost sold on the idea, then had a passenger ride in one at Spa, I'm keeping the Megane thought the A45 was so insular on track felt quite boring, only ever seen one other on a track day. A lot i saw for sale had lots of owners, on average its a new owner every 9 months
My mate had his a45 mapped to 430+bhp and sold it as it was too boring, sounded lovely and was quick in a straight line but lacked any character, now has a civic type r turbo and loves that, and it’s quicker on a twisty B road too!
Fitted a VibraTechnics lower gearbox mount. Difference is noticeable from startup - the whole car just feels more taut, for want of a better way of putting it; far more noticeable than I was expecting. Feels really nice. Lower speed gearchanges (round town, going between 1st and 4th kind of thing) feel much nicer, that little bit of 'shunt' you can get if you lift off a bit quick is massively reduced. There's a little bit more vibration but nothing that's going to get irritating I don't think. Very happy so far. Also helped a mate change discs & pads on his Volvo C30. His is a T5 with the Polestar pack, so shares a turbo 5-pot with the Focus ST of the time, 250BHP. I quite like it personally, bit of a left-field choice. Plusher (and better built) inside than the Megane, rides nicely, and that engine has a really nice burble to it which you can actually enjoy from inside the car (unlike the Meg on a standard exhaust, let's be honest). Definitely not as exciting to be in though, and in the bends, forget it
Just enjoyed driving mine today. It's been at the garage since Tuesday getting a new gearbox, hopefully this one will last longer than 28000 miles!
yeah later ive fitted a set of mist jets, looked at a set of washer jets on a 2017 vauxhall vivaro and they use mist jet that fits exactly like the megane got mine from vauxhall, part number is 93450313 i paid £7.20
I tested an Alfa Romeo 1.4 multiair Giulietta TCT (dsg type gearbox) Sportiva today (and got a part ex price for mine). I have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed with it. It didnt feel sporty at all! The interior was ok, but I just didnt like the thing. Back to the drawing board for a 5 door car!
Not for me thanks. I want something far more fun like a caterham and also a cheaper 5 door for the rest of the time.
5 door hatchbacks suck in my opinion, ha. They all look terrible/the same apart from the Alfa. Never driven one though. If I wanted practical and 4 doors I would buy a saloon as they look a whole lot better and make more sense in my opinion.
New black headlights I had blacked my old units, but being on a 2010 car they were starting to pit/show signs of UV damage Instead of depo units I've gone magneti Marelli, impressed tbh! Fit nice and freshen it up
https://eurowagens.com/headlight-left-black-renault-megane-mk3-12-13/ https://eurowagens.com/headlight-right-black-renault-megane-mk3-12-13/ Not too bad either compared to O.E Renault
Are these set for right hand drive for UK use - everything I've seen for my Mk2 225 are for Left Hand drive for europe use
Thanks, They show a MkII in from the link you provided, not in stock - I have black rear lenses so the front Angel Eyes ones would finish the look - will give them a ring next week see if they're getting anything in some time soon
Finally got round to fitting my black airtec intercooler from the group buy. Was surprisingly straightforward plug and play and only took about 90 mins.
