    Big hello to everyone.

I’ve been an admin on here for quite some time but generally more active over on the clubs sister site ClioSport.net.

I’ve recently sold My Clio 200 due to needing something a bit more fuel efficient as my journey to work has just become slightly longer.

Here’s a few snaps of the Clio

I was a bit sad to see the Clio go as I’d spent quite a bit of effort getting it to where I wanted it but I just couldn’t live with 30mpg (on a good day) any more.

Whilst I was debating selling the Clio a good mate of mine who also happens to be a moderator over on CS mentioned that he was looking to offload his Megane. I know he had purchased it from another good mate of mine, also a moderator on CS (can you a pattern emerging here ) so I knew that it had been reasonably looked after.

We agreed on a price and I jumped on a train to Stoke last Saturday to collect it.

The journey back was great and the car did not miss a beat. It also averaged at just over 50mpg which is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s very comfortable and has a full leather interior.

It’s a low mileage example and although it’s not mint it’s in a very reasonable condition.

I’ve already ordered a quite a few small bits that need sorting like a boot light holder, LED number plate light (one has stopped working) and replacement LED sidelights as again one has stopped working.

The steering wheel is in desperate need of a refurb and I’ve ordered a second hand one off eBay to send off to my mate Snappy who’s going to not only refurbish but also pad it out a bit to thicken it up as I find it to be a bit thin in OEM form. I’m sure most of you have heard of Snappy but for those of you that haven’t his work is absolutely superb and can been seen in the pic above of the wheel he did for my Clio.

The front splitter is also missing so I’ve been told about a bit of a bodge to get it looking a bit more presentable using a neoprene rubber strip. I’m trying to keep costs down a bit so a new splitter is not something I’m prepared to shell out on at this present time.

Also got a Brodit phone holder on order (by far the best phone cradle imo) which will be getting hard wired in.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get hands free calling without having to shell out on a Parrot kit or similar? Is there an aux connection for the OEM head-unit anywhere?

Here’s a pic after I gave it a quick detail when I got back on Saturday

  2. There's no AUX connection to the OEM headunit even though it is actually AUX compatible. I bought one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1808176839 to get a AUX connection. It plugs into the CD changer socket on the back of the headunit.

  6. Welcome.

Nice clio. Have been looking off & on for one now for a few years.

Did the exhaust make a big difference to noise?

  7. Handsfree calling using AUX on the standard unit is a lot clearer than the Bluetooth on my Sony aftermarket stereo!

The car initially had a standard exhaust and I added the Akrapovic last year and it sounded epic!

They're not OTT but give a nice raspy sound when giving it beans but when cruising on dual carriageway/motorway it's very quiet and no droning in the cabin. They're expensive but worth every penny imo. I highly recommend trying to find a car with one already on if you're still looking.

Cheers Buddy, I've ordered an AUX connection for the OEM head unit and also a Bluetooth receiver to see how that works.

Fitted some mist washer jets today.

It’s little things like this that make such a big difference.

eBay. Bit dear at £17 each but they make such a difference.
