New and on the hunt for a R26.R

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by Alex Hall, Feb 11, 2020.

  1. Hi all,

I have always loved the R26.R just purely due to madness of what Renault produced at the time and how it was actually a production vehicle. Having always wanted one but not been in a position to get one mainly due the need for a daily car. Now I am looking for a weekend car this is the right time to get one. I will post a 'wanted' post also but if anyone is aware of any that are potentially up for sale and not on the open market please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Alex

  2. Hi Alex,

Welcome to the club. I don’t know of any R26.R for sale but good luck with the hunt.

  3. Out of curiosity, have you looked at the ones advertised for sale?

  4. Yes I am making enquires on two currently. No.60 & no.95

  5. The ones in Somerset and in Horsham? On paper at least, they appear to be the two best ones on the market. #60 is modded...not sure about #95.

    Good luck with the search.

  6. Yes Somerset and Staffordshire. The one in Horsham is the black car I think is no.104. I dont really like the look of the black ones tbh.

  7. I was beaten to No95 back in 2013 so ended up with No26. From what I've seen over the years 95 was always well looked after. I know what you mean about the black cars but stick some red wheels on them and i think they look great. Steve who sold me my car has a black one and its grown on me more over the years.

  8. Yes I am finding a little more out about it and no.95 seems like a good option. Would love a blue or grey one but blue is just so rare, there was recently a blue one that popped up at £28k and seemed to sell quite quickly. Also Divine Automotive had a grey one last year that was up for £30k and again seemed to go quite quick. I have been speaking to a guy in Japan who has a liquid yellow one that he exported from new, I think its no.32. I would love to get it back to the country but I feel its going to work out a lot of money and plus due to it living in Japan all its life the history is uncertain. I have never been a fan of black cars regardless of the the type of vehicle, I am very fussy with how my cars and kept and cleaned and I just think I would never be happy with a black one.
