LY Clio Throphy's are going up so possibly with the R26 in the future but with the R26r it makes it more unlikely

  2. Yeah but only a select few people can afford an R26r - its insane that they are worth about 5x as much as the R26 atm...i mean there really isnt £20K worth of difference hehe!

It also says a £3K value on a PX on a R26 which is just crazy.

It's worth what someone will pay and because of how rare they are I'd say they definitely are worth a decent bit more than the R26. I know 20k is quite a lot for what you get but I think if you really really wanted an R most people could make themselves afford it.

  4. Yeah im just comparing to how low the value of R26's are atm. For what car and performance you get - taking into mind what youd pay for a Golf or Focus - its crazy atm. Now coming up to just 700 R26's left on the road.

  5. I think the values are still low because the cars are quite high maintenance. I owned an R26 for just over 2 years and sold it last March. During that time it needed both hubs doing, the windows stopped working numerous times without warning, it steamed up all the time and it misfired on idle despite many items being renewed.
On a country road it drove brilliantly but it cost me a lot of money.

  6. The rare colour 182's are rare. Sub 30 cars in most cases. Which means when one comes up for sale it will be the only one for sale in the country.

Same with ly, alien green or grey 200's.

Much rarer than a clio trophy where they made 500.

They are also last of there kind. I.e. last of the light weight naturally aspirated hot hatches.

R26 was replaced by 250/265/275 with same engine and performance.

  7. In 20 years time only art classic cars will be worth anything like your e types 250 gto etc
    Everything else will be worthless,
There is going to be a big change in classic car values in the near future and the worst hit will be things like mk1 escorts and stuff like that, that has gone to ridiculous levels
There simply won’t be a market for them anymore imo as they will be so expensive to use or simply legislated off the road
