  1. Hey guys,

My Meg 225 has started making a vibration/sound when under load. It's more noticeable at lower speeds. It sounds like something rubbing on the tyre but I checked that nothing is rubbing, there is no play in the wheel bearing and everything rotates freely. I also replaced all the engine mounts 6 months ago. Any thoughts on what it could be?

  2. If you installed performance engine mounts then this will be the vibration

  3. Thanks John, they were just replaced with OEM and it was a few months prior.

  4. It could be a number things.
My rear exhaust hanger has broken on mine and it vibrates like hell.
I'm in the Surrey/Epsom if your local to me I could always have a listen

  5. I'll check the exhaust, I hadn't thought of that. I was suspecting driveline related.
Unfortunately I'm down in Aus, but thanks for the offer.

  6. Mine has started to do something similar to what you’re describing. Under light load, in 1st and 2nd gear, the car feels a bit like a dog wagging its tail. A gentle left to right vibration. It’s an odd sensation.
I’m putting mine down to the outer cv joints on the driveshafts.
I do get some clicking when pulling away with the steering turned, so that’s also pointing me down that route.

This may be something worth checking out on yours though.

i am also putting it down to the suppport bearing half way down the driveshaft, being on its way out.
check to see if grease is coming out of it..will be a right mess if it is.

  8. Thanks for your suggestions guys, I managed to find the issue. It out the bolt on the upper engine mount had sheared.
