Damn badger!

  1. A badger decided it would like to play chicken last night.

I won but my car paid a small price.

The picture isn't great quality but I'll need a new splitter and hopefully that small crack is repairable, everything else looks okay.
What are my options on the splitter front just a OEM part or are there any after market parts that enhance it's stance?

    Cheers
    Daryl

  2. That curvy white bit is exactly where mine has a gouged hole in, not from a badger mind you. So I want exactly the same part as you along with a DRL cover if they sell them :worried:

  3. The splitter from Ads is £66 plus postage PM him about the DRL and he'll sort you out.
I drove past the badger yesterday, it just made it to the other side but only just though.

  4. £108 for a drl!!!!!

  5. Ouch!

  6. Check behind the place it hit, I've seen the aftermath of a few pheasants and while the bumper seems to fair well on most cars it's often the plastics behind it where it's bent/deformed that shatter. Thinking of the undertray and wheel arch maybe.

  7. The undertray looks okay, I'll check the arch liner though.

I have heard stories of the damage they can do but I think I've been lucky.

  8. youre lucky the badger didnt do more damage one guy hit a badger dead on and car was wrote off and that was volvo.

  9. Hope so! The old mans A5 gobbled a pheasant up, £1000+ in repairs easily and lucky it didn't wreck the rad/intercooler.

  10. I was quoted 420 for the panel and a 108 for drl, then I would have to get the panel sprayed :worried: Jesus this gets worse, might have to go down the insurance route after all.

  11. I'm looking at £120 to fix my bumper and a few other marks on my car.

  12. I hit a pheasant in my r26 before, smashed the grill, under tray, both arch liners and cracked the bumper :worried:

  13. There's no need for a cull, the badgers are already suicidal.

Thd biggest thing I've hit was a pheasant in my old car. Through the grill, taking the grill with it. No damage but it was still alive when I got home, had to ring it's neck. In hindsight I should have plucked and gutted the bird, apparently pheasants really tasty.

  14. Yeah there are a few badger runs across the roads where I live and you see dead ones quite often.

I've hit a few pheasants in her van, now they are suicidal. Never stopped to pick them up though.

  15. I didn't pick it up, the car did. Lying inside the bumper with its feet hang out of the grill lol!

  16. I hit one 2 years ago in my 225.... it needed... new bumper, rad, intercooler, air con rad, head lights, under tray and a heat shielf where the exhaust hit the bloody thing and then smashed into the heat shield..... with paint and rip off paint men... the car was a write off! so I cancelled the claim, bought a new bumper and got the rest off ebay.... 1 weekend and got one of those 'scratch' guys to paint the bumper.... one car back to 100% and done properly! and not on the register :-D
