Mk2 forged engine

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by turkishdave, Jun 29, 2019.

  1. Hi guys, contemplating buying a spare engine soon in good condition, then slowly buying the parts to forge it over time, I'm in rush, just buying parts as and when I can afford, then getting my mate to forge engine, what parts am I going to need in all? And best places to get them? Cheers

    engine dynamics or rs tuning

  3. I'm going to do the same, buy all the parts over the next few months and hopefully have the engine built early next year. Then a big turbo kit!
As Matt said.... Turbo Dynamics, RS Tuning or Ktec Racing for the parts.

  4. Cheers guys, what parts exactly will I need in all, obviously wossner pistons, forged rods, not sure exactly what I'll need in total though, different cam?

  5. You don’t need cams Turkish, that depends more on what your ultimate power goal is.

  6. Pistons, rods, bearings, valves, valve springs, head gasket, probably injectors depending on what level of power you're after. Then uprated fuel system, again depending on power level.

  9. Use code RSMEGANE for discount on engine dynamics when you register saves you quite Abit tbh
Also RS tuning are currently doing wossner pistons and pec rods for 750 inc vat

  10. i have got mine all from RSTuning. apart from just forge it, i also ported the engine head while it is off to increase the efficiency (do not know if this also works in force induction engine, it worked for my na engine though). wanted to balance all conrods and pistons but found that they are already very very close in weight, so didn't waste the time.
