How many megane RS mk3 owners running Decat? Worth doing with the hassle come MOT time? What about insurance too. Currently stage 1 with ITG intake and mid box chop, think the decat would work well with the remap and sound the nuts. Just putting me off with the hassle come MOT time as i know the are a pig to fit.
so many threads on this you can get a cat moved further down the system, so its easy to swap in and out on mots
I've got a decat, my mot is due this week. However, I have a friendly tester so shouldn't be an issue I hope. Otherwise I'm screwed lol
Yeah you need a friendly tester or a cat in the middle to make it work unless you know someone [emoji6]
Failed my MOT yesterday on emissions with a sports cat (cobra) -_- Seemingly a waste of time if it doesn't pass on the retest tomorrow, I intend on it being glowing red hot beforehand this time. Tempted to sack it off, get a standard cat to pass then decat.
strange one that, my 250 and r26.r both had sports cats and both passed no problem, thats the whole point of them.
Yeah she passed last year with it on. Either the cat didn't last very long or the exhaust not being hot had a huge play. Just bought some "Wynns pre mot emission reducer" to run through it. Hopefully a combination of that and some heat will sort it.
Yeah its has no issues passing now, I took it to kwik fit originally so perhaps they were a bit anal about it. Take it to an indy for MOT these days and it's never been brought up, imagine they get it nice and hot before doing it. Just had the MOT last week and it was fine
