i haven’t received mine as yet but am looking forward to fitting it [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
oh right ok these couriers just don’t care there always in a rush am sure the intercooler is well packaged and secure and if damaged you will be covered. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That really surprising, our DPD guy is amazing, always on time or sitting outside waiting for his time slot, Yodel and some others are a nightmare, the number of time stuffs been put in the bin and no note through the door is unbelievable, only gets spotted a couple of days later when the wife puts the rubbish out.
usually the couriers that drop of at mine are also good. always knock door or leave next door with neighbors never throwing over the gate or fence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anyone had a look at their intercooler. Bit pissed off the airtech logo sprayed on it looks like a child painted it the quality of the logo painting is shocking.
i hope mine doesn’t have them problems [emoji120][emoji51] it’s hassle just sending it back should of been perfect when you got it i don’t blame you sending it back hope everything goes smooth. [emoji41][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i haven’t received mine yet but am hoping [emoji120] everything is ok but i will update as soon as i received it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep, ditto. To be fair if I look at the photos online they all look a bit like that, and won't be a problem behind the grill.
i hope the intercoolers we receive are new and ones that people have sent back because there’s a bit of damage. [emoji51][emoji120] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
well a lot of people have said that the intercoolers they have received aren’t really that good as in quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As well as the logo there looks like corrosion under the paint intercooler is covered in it. I will see what they say.
Fitted stage one cooler last Saturday (not from group buy) - what a pita it was, pish poor fit - imo of course !
Passenger side boost hose went on ok Had to use washers as spacers between intercooler brackets and crash bar. The cooler touched the bar at each end and there was gap between the brackets (other option was bend them) Drivers side intercooler was hard up to air con rad, couldn’t seem to get intercooler high enough to click into boost hose, released top boost hose fixing which helped but the original plastic clip that held the original intercooler fouled the intercooler pipe right in its elbow. Struggled to get intercooler pipe and boost hose square to each other to clip in. Got there in the end but had to remove the plastic catch arrangement from the boost hose clip and use a tyrap around the metal clip to retain. Would it have been any easier if we’d have gone with a a n other manufacturer ???
it sounds like it from what everyone is saying few people are having issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
From what I have seen of the oem hoses they are crap very flimsy and could well collapse under boost seen this so many times with poor hoses in Impreza's and Evo's. Are there any off the shelf adtermqrket replacement hoses out there. Long term.I look.to have alloy hard pipes made up with silicon joiners.
ye i got the forge hard pipe kit on mine and iv just ordered half dozen t bolt clamps as well so it holds the boost much better than oem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The clamps like that (mikalor) are one make thete are others are not ideal as they put a spot load atvthe area where the bolt assy is. Murray clamps are what you want to use tbeyxate stronger and spread the odd through the whole circumference resulting in a higher total clamping force. I changed to them on the Impreza when I started running higher boost (2.3 bar). Do you have a link to the pipe kit you have. To be honestvits the first intercooler kit I have bought that did not include uprated pipework.
i bought the forge hard pipe kit of the forge website uk i have not heard of those clamps that you mentioned but it’s to late now i have bought them t bolt clamps already but thanks for the heads up. [emoji41][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not what I would fit but that's maybe me. These are pretty much the best out there for this application https://www.murraycorp.com/clamp/constant-tension/constant-tension-turbo-seal-clamps-tss/
