Megane 3RS 250/265/275 CL RC5+ front brake pads

Discussion in 'Car Parts For Sale' started by Somnambulist, May 11, 2019.

  1. Nearly new Carbon Lorraine RC5+ front pads from my 250. Have only done one track day so loads of meat on them, only selling as I’ve sold the car.

Incredible pad for fast road and track use without squealing like the RC6.

£110 posted UK mainland or can be collected near Tonbridge, Kent.

    Does RC5+ are road legal?

  8. Don’t think they are Technically but I’m not 100% sure. The ones above are definitely not road legal as far as I’m aware CL8’s etc. But you would have to be pretty unlucky to get done for CL5+ I think. My car has past last 2 MOT’s with them on the car.

I run cl8's on the road and they work great even from cold :sunglasses:

  10. Do the CL8s squeal badly on the Megane? My Dad has them on his car and they are really noisy. My brother also has them but they don’t squeal on his car.

Thanks for reply. I am not worried about MOT. I am more worried about insurance. As they are very tricky with illegal modifications... they could ignore this fact until something major would happen. My friend had an issue with insurance because of having decat on his car. I know it is different in terms of MOT, but could be similar from the insurance point of view.

I have had them on both of my Megane's mk2 and 3 and not had a problem with squealing.
They only squeal if you brake gently, i tend to use them short and sharp, that stops them squealing.
My Espace ones squeal if i brake gently and there not performance pads

Your MOT station will not know or even care, as long as they get the right figures on the brake tester they will not care.
As for your insurance, they will also not know (unless you tell them) performance pads will be better at stopping than standard pads, so better chance of stopping before you rear end someone :laughing:
