R26 OE exhaust or fit my KTR exhaust?

  1. Hi All,
I have a dilemma and dont know which way to go. I have read where the OE R26 exhaust system is a good one thus hesitant to change. It is virtually silent. This is my daily driver.

I have another Meg [ph1 ] sitting dormant in my garage that has a KTR 3" downpipe and de-cat, KTR induction kit, KTR re-map flash and best of all a 3" kTR exhaust. [which sounds great ]

Could i simply swap over the exhausts and leave everything else alone ? I am guessing the OE R26 exhaust might upset the ph 1 Meg with those other mods.
    Your thoughts appreciated.
    cheers

  2. should fit ok, i don't beleive there was any mod changes on the underfloor of the megane between Mk1 and 2 so exhaust routing should be identical

  3. Thx for the quick reply..... its not so much the fitment [i know they will fit ] and i know it will great on the R26....but taking off a 3" exhaust on a tuned car may play havoc with the tune setup. Also i think the R26 is 2.75 " as against the K-TEC 3"
I dont want to upset the ph 1 tune basically.

  4. where did you get it remapped, probably best to ask whoever mapped it in the first place, they will certainly know the effect on the tune car it will have, afterall they are the experts.

  5. Iirc the stock system is 2.5” dropping to 2.25” at a couple of bends.

  6. tof73............ its a K-tec reflash tune similar to what RStuning does. Thinking about it now it is the major component of the whole tune setup so probably not wise to change it.
Poppaboost; wow.....2 different sizes involved on the OE item which surely means restrictions however i have read on here and other forums that the OE exhaust is a good one.....decisions....decisions !! To change or not.

  7. If you was interested I could do you a Scorpion cat back for £456.32

  8. The freight cost to OZ would be a killer unfortunately.

  9. I’d just do a centre box chop, I love mine :sunglasses:

  10. That is also a possibility :}

  11. You would be surprised

  12. Approx £90 to ship to Sidney

  13. smithandroper......thx so much for your suggestions....... the freight cost is surprising however it is still not viable unfortunately due to our tax system......452 quid + 90 quid freight + another 10% tax on both item and freight = 600 quid or $1300 Aus. A Miltek 3" can be purchased here for around the same price
