itg or another cold air intake mk3

  1. does anybody have that intake? Or some other cold air intake
Does this part make some power and gain or it doesn't worth any money.

  2. If you are only planning on running 300bhp it won't make much of a gain over changing the panel filter, you will get quite a bit more noise

  3. Yes I want to build stage 2+
I already have full milltek and Wagner cooler with clp racing pipes.

  4. And another question.
K tech intake or ITG. What will be better performance?

  5. itg is `supposed` to be better,as it draws its air from the wheel arch, and not the hot engine bay like the KTEC does.I have the KTEC on my R26,and it definatly makes more power up top.
I thought though, that these systems make nothing on a mk3.

  6. I want to try but I don't want to lost money

  7. The KTEC system i think sounds good.
Makes a noise a bit like a dump valve when you come of the power..nothing to silly.

  8. I don't know why all people say it is money lost )

  9. Because the stock intake has some headroom and already has a cold air feed to it from the factory. With a cone filter you can get improved throttle response, but if you're sucking in hot air from inside the engine bay, there will be reduced power output. If the cone filter has such great flow capacity that the end result can overcome the bhp loss caused by icreased intake air temperatures, then you might see 2-3 % extra power on a good day, but then you'd also have to ask yourself how much the actual filtration capability was reduced in order to get such a result. Panel filters might gain 1-2 % more hp in real world terms because there you don't lose the cold air feed of the stock intake. But question still remains: what had to be given up to gain that little bit extra flow.

  10. You really right. I think it will be better to get panel filter line BMS one or some another.

  11. Like Andrewjeffs put it earlier, the sound is the biggest thing with cone filters. Some like the added whoosh etc, but the thing with panel filters is that you'll know everything will still work as Renault intended.

As for me, I've not found it necessery to alter any stock induction system unless I've doubled the original engine power - but I will admit I've not modified any Renaults AND I will say it's very likely with this newer generation of cars (Meg III for instance) that the headroom on the stock intake is probably a lot less than on older cars that I used to modify.

  12. Thank you for your help
    I order panel filte
