Haha nah, I want something more rosd friendly for a bit, so a nice E92 with the potential for a BBK and suspension down the line for more track use

There is a low mileage R26 on Ebay for £26k :openmouth::openmouth:

  9. Sold mine a couple of weeks ago, still not found a replacement yet haha.

  10. You've had your money's worth out of that one. An e92 is a good choice if your prepared to spend the money on it. The team schirmer bmw's are rapid.

Tbf parts prices ain't to bad if you know where to get them from

  12. E92's seem good value at the minute, apart from the £500 road tax. You'll be skint time you've driven from Scotland to the ring. You'll be hoarding plastic bottles to pay for ring laps.

They get awful MPG don't they? Mate owned one as said he was lucky to get 12 if he drove it the way he wanted to.

Depends how it's driven but yeah, under 100 miles to a tank at full chat. Will do 300+ on a run so not all bad [emoji23]

12 mpg, thats not too bad, think my average on track is around 11mpg, my 225 around Spa was 8.6mpg :laughing::laughing:

Did you ever confirm what happened to your original engine? Did that throw a rod too?

  22. -Jamie-

    -Jamie- RSM Moderator

Still not looked at it, cars sat where it was recovered to

No I mean the one that you suspected water getting into it? I never heard what happened to it in the end?

  24. -Jamie-

    -Jamie- RSM Moderator

Ah right, it had a bent rod

Were you running high torque on that one?

  26. -Jamie-

    -Jamie- RSM Moderator

    Nope, only around 330ftlbs.

Cylinders were full of water but it ran for 2 years and 40k/many trackdays

How strange, how could it have survived two years full of water

Obviously it didn't have water in it for two years [emoji23]

Oh I thought you meant it went 2 years after your water incident

  31. -Jamie-

    -Jamie- RSM Moderator

It did, but it wasn't full of water for 2 years...

It's not that much quicker tbf until big speeds

Not as direct or chuck able as the Megane but it does have like 300kg on it. Bit more of a challenge to get the most out of as well, looking forward to getting some miles and track time in it.

  37. E92 could be good after usually bearings and 3 x throttle actuators replaced, then brakes and suspension then point at track and enjoy

  38. -Jamie-

    -Jamie- RSM Moderator

It's had all the important and expensive stuff done.
Bearings/actuators and abs unit all replaced

Has AP BBK, BC coilovers and some Yoko A052s

Looking at a shifter like a CAE but the stock one isn't too bad, has an F10 shifter which makes it pretty short and direct

  39. Looks like it has the functional bits done....what are you going to change on it??

  40. Coolerworx do cost effective shifter for these
