  1. Hi, I am looking to buy a track toy. I am looking at the Megane 225 Cup (£4-5k) and Megane 250 Cup (8-10k). I understand there is around 3-4k difference but am willing to pay IF its worth it. I want something reliable and track orientated. And could maybe drive everyday.

    What are the major differences?

Are there any common issues I should know?

Any Renaultsport specialists in West London area?

If its a track toy then an R26 with some proper mods, if its a track toy and a daily then a 250.

  6. exactly this.
A few guys have sold track 250`s, and gone back to a R26

  7. What makes the R26 better than the 250 Cup

It is more raw, you feel the road more though the seat, steering and suspension, the 250 is a bit insulated from the road, not as much as say an A45, with that you might as well sit in front of your TV in your favourite armchair.

If i was to change mine, i would go back to a mk2, i'm not unhappy with the 265, but the seat of your pants feel of the mk2 and the lift off oversteer :laughing::laughing:

  9. I would love to buy A R26. Its just trouble finding a low mileage one. The 250 Cup should be less problems with it being newer and having less miles.

why are you worried about the mileage, i bought my 265 with 97k in August it now has 104k, its my track day car so it gets a good pasting, i also have a 2.0dci Espace that has 170k on it and the engine is spot on still.
