I have been meaning to do a progress thread of my car for ages now, I thought I had better get on with it as it is going under a dramatic change. Most of you will all be aware of this car as I was one of the first in the UK to transform the look of the quite subtle CC into a more aggressive beast. It all started back in 2008 when I got her home. The spec is as follows; Megane CC Dynamique S Model 17 alloys CD Stacker Active roll hoops Full carbon leather with white stitching Xenon headlights Built in handsfree Rare Tempest blue colour and satin roll hoops Rear parking sensors Really great looking car and never seen another in the same colour. Positioning next to the toy car it really looked huge and felt like land yaughting when I first took it out. I added the DRLs almost straight away but didnt hang on to them long. I first decided to ruin the warranty by fitting the R26 front! Much better looking and no more annoying plastic to dress. The whole thing cost a fortune even the washer jets are £20 each or something stupid. The whole kit soon adds up but was sooo worth it. Now for something really different. I went all brave a fitted some really nice replica stickers to the bumper. Got them lined up really well and got great comments for people on how it looked like a pace car. Also a nice little addition of LED sidelights and some 8000k bulbs in headlight. Less than 1 month after the nearly £1000 bumper job some lovely person decided to ram the car French plate took the brunt but still gutted. After the damage I removed the stickers to find only a slight crease in the bodywork, it has bothered me for so long but couldnt replace the whole thing for a very slight crease. Lucky I didnt either... Next up I bought the replica rear bumper made for the CC. It made the car look far more balanced and the profile looks stunning! I followed everyone like sheep and fitted the cupra R splitter. Think I can confidently say this is the only Megane CC in the world with one of these so quite cool. Notice the new French plate and the b****y crease (starting to really annoy me now) Got a discrete sunstrip fitted in limo tint as to not block visabilty Splitter again looking rather mean Now for my favorite mod so far. Nice big rear wing! Looking at the profile of the car it needed a lift at the back to even it up and make the back look even more huge. More to come soon

Thanks for the comments after completing lots of work on her, we went on a trip to Scotland... The roads unfortunately caused the car to get over excited!! Managed to hit a rock that somehow smashed a nice hole in the flimsy sump. After some trial and error and a few chunks of wood we got her onto the recovery trailer. On a more positive note, I got some cracking photos, not such a bad backdrop!
After spending many many hours going though eBay, here and Facebook finding additional parts for the conversion I quickly realised that I was missing far too much. As I always set out with this project to make the CC as Renault would have I needed to find a full car for breaking, this way we would have every part we needed and I could sell the surplus. I then found this lovely little ultra blue meg and quickly became the proud owner. Very light front end damage, drives really well too. And of course came with these beauties! By having the complete car this will allow me to use the complete suspension setup front and rear, brakes, wheels and even the steering rack. This will transform the CC into an entirely different beast. Just a few photos during minor changes before the car is taken to the garage. This one shows a friend beginning to steal the window regulators!! A seat swapping day more photos of seats installed will be up in the morning.
Problems so far We have not had many issues as of yet but I will keep the list updated. - Clocks won't recognise the car being a convertible so any roof related errors (trying to drive with roof not folded away properly) are not displayed and no beeps are present. - Recaro seats sit a little bit too high. I know this is an issue with the hatch but the CC has a chopped off roofline so the problem is far more apparent.
I am getting used to them tbh, may get them lowered at some point, got to wait and see how the girlfriend gets on with them as she may not see out if they are lowered lol.
Little update. We spent the day yesterday getting the engine ready to lift out. During that time we disconnected the gear linkage, separated the looms, removed all cooling pipes and rads and stripped the entire interior out. Not many photos as we had to get are heads down. The radiator, intercooler and air con radiator were completely ruined but we have replacements for all of those anyway. As you can see a lovely bend in the engine subframe, luckily it is not as bad as I looks, nothing a hammer won't fix! Such a crazy amount of wiring involved with these cars, luckily loads of spare plugs in the fuse box for extra things like a folding metal roof! Fingers crossed anyway. That was the end for that day anyway, light had faded and we had no hoist to begin the next stage. Making good progress tho.
Luckily I went out and bought this! oh and before anyone asks that is a spare r26 engine and gearbox!
Fastest fish tank for sure. Surprisingly it's not that much heavier around 130kg. Going by the GT 0-62 times it will be affected by 0.4 of a second to 60
I'd be more concerned with the cars awesome ability to let water in but ones things for sure it'll be awesome when it's done
Little update for now while we await some forge goodies. Today we managed to battle the cold and take off both complete suspension arms, brakes and hubs. Due to the damage on the subframe it required attaching ratchet strap to the subframe and one to the cc, after a few tugs the subframe was straightened out and we were able to remove it. We also came up with a ghetto way of jacking the car up without axle stands no chance of collapsing either We started work on the car quite late, around 12 but by 4 the engine was out(pictures to follow) there is a lack of photos of this whole build and I will try getting more, we are working to a deadline so need to move quick. Almost forgot to put these last few pictures on, as you can see these really do set the car off so well, the originals were nice but these are simply stunning. I know this whole conversion will seem crazy to a lot of you, we have had endless comments about how I should just keep the R26 on the road and fix that, but come on where's the fun it that? We have a great project on our hands and I'm sure it will not disappoint. From the very start I have wanted to make this every bit an R26 meaning I need to transfer everything into it, subframe, brakes and even the steering rack to make sure it feels like a renaultsport. Iv been quite lucky with mine it that it no longer leaks, I got updated seals and that was the end of it
Bought it from seat main dealer for many ££££, try looking on eBay as they do come up a bit. As for fitting it's not too bad. If you have a 225 it bolts straight on once you cut the center pillar thing down on the splitter. If you have a R26 you need to pull the rubber one off, saw the old splitters mountings and bolt it on quite easy really.

Yeah it has lots of condensation due to the car being built in a soggy muddy yard lol we have made the interior filthy. Yeah il keep an eye out tho cheers for the comments everyone
Few little updates, engine removed from the sport. Ordered loads of new parts. -Cambelt Kit -Auxiliary Belt -Thermostat -Clutch -Bottom end gasket kit -Headgasket kit -Head bolts -Forge Silicone Coolant Hoses Kit Going to get steam cleaning the engine block and fitting all new parts prior to going into the CC. A trip to RS tuning is on the cards to make sure everything is running as it should be and have a remap. Here's some late night photos after we removed it
Just seen your list above and thought it might be worth spending another £800ish and getting forged pistons and rods hurry up and get it running, cant wait to see this up and running after your years of planning.
Little update for now, we have stripped the engine down completely to clean and put all new gaskets on. Changing the waterpump, headgasket, bottom end gaskets, new thermostat, aux belt and lots and lots of scrubbing! Photos to follow tomorrow. Was considering forging but not going to be running big power for a while yet, remembering this is a megane cc also. Hope to strip the CC next week also going to be ordering a miltek as the standard exhaust was full of water
Little update as head bolts never came from K tec got to spend the day giving engine parts a good scrub and steam I know someone will probably say I could get everything painted but I think there is something quite nice about an engine in standard form but flawlessly clean. Gearbox came up a treat too note the short shifter yes a CC with a short shifter! Changed valves and stem seals today. Should run really well after this.
