Noise after fitting hybrid is it normal?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Jamie230, Jan 18, 2019.

  1. I have noticed a the bit of a whine since fitting a hybrid to my 265. Its hard to describe and the car hasn’t been mapped yet but ive had the car out a run to check for leaks etc and im hearing a whine as the cars coming on boost then it goes away if i let the boost build up a bit. There is a cone filter and it probably is exaggerating the noise but id like to no if its normal or not. I was thinking initially it was the wastegate venting the extra boost but i dont want to drive the whole way to leeds from Northern Ireland to find out there is a problem when mapping. I have checked the bearing in the turbo again and it is fine but was hoping someone could shed some light on it. I have a video but it wont let me load it and says the uploaded file does not have an allowed extension, anyone no how to get round this?

    Thanks
    Jamie

  3. Feel a bit better after seeing your reply. Done a pressure test and have no leaks so will just have to hope for the best with it.
