I think my thermostat is on the way out as the needle drops when moving. Is it worth using a genuine one or will a gates one do as they’re slightly cheaper.
I bought a Febi one for my R26 and it started runnin cool again after 6 months, ended up buyin a Renault one
I had the same problem with my 265, thought it was using a bit more fuel than it used to, i bought just the thermostat, an aftermarket one, undid the 3 small bolts, rather than changing the whole thing and it works a treat, think i paid less than £9 for it, gained 4-5mpg on a run.
I’ve noticed the mpg has been poor too. I’ve noticed on the aftermarket ones the opening temperature ranges is 83, 88 or 89, which one did you go for?
