225 Unknown part found in engine bay - Help identify

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by coetseejj.rd, Dec 5, 2018.

  1. Dropped an injector holder clip below the battery tray by accident so had to remove the lot to retrieve it.

Found this next to the engine right where the gearbox meets:

Can't find anything it might connect to where I found it. It seems to be either a window washer component or a vacuum line component.

Would appreciate any help where this might need to go.

never seen anything like that on my mk2 and i have virtually stripped and rebuilt the thing.

  3. I've removed the battery tray many a times and never saw it before.

One thing to note, since reinstalling the front bumper after servicing the car on Saturday my rear window water jet is not working, when I hold the stalk to spray the rear window the front washer jets spray.... Is this due to switching around the two bumper washer pipes (I've removed them many times and always though it was just one for left and one for right...)

Yes i sounds like you have swapped the pipes over

  5. Something to do with the battery vent pipe maybe?

  6. Don't know what that is but when I was fitting my cooler I found an empty fag box in the engine bay

  7. I’ve only ever seen one before, but never with a screwdriver stuck in it!

  8. I suspect you might just have hit the nail on it's head there! Suspect it was a previous batteries'!

:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: Only seeing the perspective of the screwdriver now.
