After my 225 blew up in February

I decided (or my girlfriend did) that I was going to get a 250.

    Here it is!

The advert didn't mention any mods so I was pleased when I went for a viewing that it had been remapped to 320BHP by K-Tec already!

After getting it I wanted to do a few mods so what I've done already:
    3" Scorpion stainless cat-back exhaust
Pipercross panel filter (and removed sound dampening foam in airbox)
    Wheels refurbished in gloss black
Painted the door handles and RS badge in gloss black
    Black Renault diamonds
    Black headlights
    Black exhaust trim
    HEKO wind deflectors
    LED interior lights
    LED sidelights and repeaters

Most of the little mods I had planned are done, in the future, I want to upgrade the speakers as the stock ones are pretty poor, and eventually a hybrid turbo.

  2. Nice car! What happened to your 225 then? It looks a bit of a mess! [emoji50]

Never will know why it happened, was just driving to my girlfriend's house, wasn't even driving quickly. I was doing about 40 and bang, heard loads of metal hit the road and the underside of my car and a huge plume of smoke behind me, image an F1 car blowing up so much smoke.

  4. Oh, not nice at all for you! Was the engine standard, or had you done a lot of work on it?

I still miss my 225, was called Homer because of when I got the car the previous owner had put the private plate CH02MER on it, he was a big Simpsons fan apparently! I named my 250 Marge to suit.
One thing I have to say, the 250 grips like no other car I've driven and I've driven some pretty quick cars on a track, and despite it being faster than my 225 it is not as fun.

It was at 280BHP, all the work done by the previous owner, dump valve, induction kit, full Milltek system. Sounded amazing!

Also, want to get the interior like the steering wheel and gaiters done in Alcantara. Needs a new gear knob too as the original one is peeling.

Just did some wrapping inside the car, always like the Trophy-R's black air vents so I wrapped mine and I also changed the silver trim to yellow!

  12. Stupid works WiFi must be blocking it

  13. Did you just get some strip vinyl for that? Was gonna do it with mine in red but haven't got round to it yet. And did you take it off to wrap it or leave it on whilst doing it? Looks good.

I also installed some tweeters and they sound great but I don't like how it looks, without the bracket they fall through and with the bracket, I can't put the cover back on! What to do?

  16. Stupid WiFi blocks that link too lol, turned it off now :tongueout:, did you use some yellow tape to do that? I have got some red at home, been wanting to do mine for a while now

Well wrap but I guess wrap is just tape lol :tongueout:

  18. Could glue it in? A few dabs

Take the plastic cover off and glue the speaker in?

  20. Never seen inside one, so not sure how you could do it, but thought that could be a option, would only use use a few dabs, so it can be removed if needed

Well it was annoying me so I just went out and did it, took a heat gun to the speakers and got the bracket off. Maybe don't use resin if you're not sure on something... Very messy under the covers but who's going to look under a speaker cover?

Got some new speakers installed yesterday, they're better quality but a lot quieter! I think I need an amp, any suggestions? I want to keep the original head unit to keep it looking standard, not a fan of aftermarket ones.

The whole door card has to come off so I thought while it's off I might as well wrap the interior handle!

I didn't really like the look of the wrapped vents so I decided to paint them and the gearstick gaiter frame in preperation for my interior being retrimmed by Royal Steering Wheels. Got a new RS gearknob too!

Nah can't do without the heated seats! And the memory seats are really useful

  29. Look really good, did you use the same company as me?

Thanks! No I ended up using KolourKoncept on Facebook as they had the perfect yellow! Really quick work too

  31. Couldn’t you get heating reftrofitted to the recaros? Don’t think it’s very expensive. (Although the recaros are)

And if you don’t let anyone else drive it you don’t need memory seats

Meh never bene bothered about Recaros tbh, I'm not tracking the car so doesn't need it. My girlfriend drives too so memory is useful!

  33. How did you get the handbrake lever off?

It should just peel off, that or cut the seem

  35. I think I’m going to take the console out and change the whole unit

Oh I see, I was going to do that but it looked like a right pain do just changed the material, easy to change.

  37. I thought I could just change the handle and gaiter but it came a whole unit

The handle material does come off. It's glued but you should be able to remove it. If it's too stiff try heating it up with a hairdryer.

  39. Cheers, the actual handle or just the material?
