ive no idea what number R this is, i came across the picture in my old old old phone a few days ago i remember it at my local dealership, it was a Lady owner and she was having different seats fitted to the standard spec ones, in the forward facing picture you can see different seats in the background and only one in the car any ones on here? or recognise it?
workshop wasnt that bad, was a small dealership, and old no idea why lip spoiler was missing id never noticed that as when i took the piccy she hadnt even taken delivery of it it was brand new thinking about it i think shed had different rims aswell
Its not that old lady is it 73 odd years old, she does the odd track day and uses it for shopping, sure she was in the evo mag
Not hers Steve, her reg starts AF09. Sad that I know that but there's videos on YouTube of the previous owner of mine chasing her down at Bedford.
Thats ace i cant believe what im reading ha ha good look to her imagine being smoked on a track then getting out to realise it was a pensioner
I am 74 this year. Anyone older than me?. First trackday,Thurso to Spa early April. Then hopefully, many more trackdays this year. Does this lady and her husband still do trackdays?.
You should come along to one of our track days and meet Arthur and the crowd of us, top bloke, he's quick as well and thinks nothing of a 20 hour drive from home to spa to do a track day, his son also drives an R26.R they must be the only father and son with Rs.
Im planning on doing one or two this year hope to meet a few you i might struggle to keep up with you guys though only having the r26 not the r also no trackday experience
Nothing between the R26 and the R to be honest, depends who's driving them, my R has AST suspension , stage1 map, big brakes, I couldn't get near one of our guys in a standard R26, experience and tallent is all you need, oh and a big set of balls at times.
So you are saying a R26, bog standard and a R26.R (again bog standard) to the same racing driver round the same track, there would be no difference? hmmmm....
I think he means is just because you have a 'better' car, you will be overtaking the 'lesser' car on track. It's how the driver in the car drives the car they are in.
Unfortunately my balls arent that big haha mine will hopefully stg1 with some new cooksports by the time i get on my first trackday
Ha mine was standard bar some cooksports on my first track day with the Megane (only previously done another day in my 172) and at first everything was going past me as I was getting used to the track and car. Then after some nice tuition from Naith, I was getting more confidence in the car and track and started going past other things. Track days are races, so don't get hung up on the fact that loads of cars go past. Track days are for you to enjoy driving your car and learning what it can (and can't) do.
Im looking to do oulton park mostly its nearest to me croft i think is a similar distance so maybe there once im ised to them ill maybe take a trip further knockhill or silverstone maybe
As i say its probably closest to me i went to watch btcc last year it was good day out red hot weather as well isnt there a renaultsport track day in august i think i heard somewhwre
No I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying that on a (track day) and dependent who is driving then there is mostly not much in it in my experience , sure if the same driver were to drive on the same track then yes, there may be a difference, how much, who knows, 1,2 seconds a lap at most I don't know
We go all over mate, just waiting for the weather to get a bit better, I'm itching to book one now but it's a bit risky with the weather at the mo
