Not yet sorry. I’ve worked flat out since these went on so the cars a mess. Gutted as I couldnt even get to seal the wheels before they went on. Hopefully I’ll get to clean the car up this weekend and then I’ll get the camera out What I can say though is the AD08R tyres are amazing. They really transform the car. Unbelievable dry grip.
I’m sure there are. It’s an amazing car as you well know I’m very much enjoying it still. I imagine it will get some more mods soon but I’m taking it slow and enjoying every improvement I make. And of course it will be on track as much as possible )))
Finally got the car cleaned and some photos taken. Not the greatest venue for photos but I didn't have much time. The car has had H&R springs, Oz ultraleggerra wheels, and some AD08R tyres. The springs are nice but not amazing. I really wanted to try the BC coilovers or even push the boat out to some AST/Nitron/KW but my thinking was the new meg is out soon and if that blows me away I may well swap. Of course if it doesn't then the trophy will be getting more mods We will see ! The wheels I absolutely love and the tyres well most people on here know how good they are and well they really are! Amazing dry grip, and more than useable in the wet. Best tyre I've tried on any car so far by a long way. Anyway enough typing, here are some photo's........
Looks good mate...pleased with my choice of wheels even more now. always a worry when you spend decent cash on something that you've not seen yet.
They do look good don't they. Hoped I might be able to get the photos to show on here rather than just posting a link. Can I do that from Flickr?

Thanks. Yes 47. They fit the arches really well. The rears could be spaced out a little (5mm maybe) just to get it perfect, but I don't like running spacers, so I'm happy with it as it is.
mine are the same, think theyre spot on. Just needs some camber on the front which hopefully ill have soon
Yeah, I want these wheels. They are so nice, they would look even better with black wheel bolts also.
THey were from demon tweaks but can be ordered from pretty much any wheel place. Can’t remember exact price. It was lots though !!
Yeah I haven’t got round to the black bolts yet. Actually the silver’s a nice contrast in person but I’ll get black ones soon.
Did the Harewood hill climb academy day again this year. Such an awesome day. Well worth doing. Lots of fun and you learn so much about the car and how to really push it. It was my first event of any kind since putting the AD08R tyres on. Wow those tyres are amazing! Totally transform the car.
Blyton is next up in a few weeks and I’ve heard it’s hard on the brakes. Mine are pretty shot so ordered new front and back which wasn’t cheap but needed doing. So nearly ordered BC coilovers at the same time but worried what they’ll be like on the road on a daily driven car. Tempted to stretch to some AST’s instead but sooo much more money. We will see.
Got a little carried away and ordered the PF upgrade kit with some new grooved rear discs and some rear pads. The kit has 348mm two pc discs, PF660 fluid, and PFZ pads. Feel pretty good so far. Yet to push the car hard but so far seems like a nice improvement. Will know for sure at Blyton
Early start for a trackday at Blyton yesterday. Was my first ever wet weather track day so on arrival when we realised just how bad it was I swapped to the oem wheels with PS4 tyres. It’s a very different track to anything I’ve been on before but I really enjoyed it. It’s only a short lap so didn’t take long to learn the lines and I felt I could really push to the limit on the PS4 tyres which were great in the wet. And the brake setup was mighty. A good step up from oem. I’m really pleased with it. I’ll post some movies later for anyone who’s interested.....
Car looks awesome, I see you have a smaller aerial, Where did you get that? Does the roof lining and all have to come off like the guys in mk4 clios are doing for the sharkfin aerials? Does DAB, nav and all the rest still work?
Can’t remember where I got it. No it just screws in to the base. Everything still works, although I don’t have DAB so not sure if it would affect that.
It’s a long movie (30 mins or so) as it’s all the better runs from the day. The Megane really showed how balanced it’s chassis is. The wet conditions really highlighted it. I got a little sideways a couple of times if I got overconfident. But I always had huge confidence in what the car was doing and how hard to push. It’s a great car!
I’ve been collecting some tuning parts. So far I have a CGR decat, a ramair intake, and a Forge dv. Having second thoughts about all of them actually. Wondering if the intake will just cause heat soak, and really is the dv needed? And the decat....I really want to know what it sounds like with the Akra ) but I worry..... mot / insurance / etc. I may sell all three to fund a sports cat and get on the Airtec group buy. And just stick with the standard valve and just use an uprated panel filter. Tuners are suggesting that’s all I really need for a modest tune. Any opinions on this would be great. Anyone interested in those parts send me a pm.
Also one thing that occurred to me on track was that I never pay attention to the engine parameters. So what should I be expecting on track for coolant, oil, and intake temps? And is there anything else I should be monitoring on track regarding the engine parameters? Thanks.
Hey mate, i thought of giving some opinion/idea on your upgrade parts: 1. air intake: a BMC panel filter fitted in the stock air box with the sponge padding removed is enough... ( Turbo intlet pipe by forge is a good extra , due to its larger diameter and better air flow towards the turbo. Forge Blow off is also a good extra, while keeping the OEM blanking plate. 2. FMIC: Wagner intercooler, rather than any of the rest..hence the best design for not blocking the air flow for the coolant radiator. 3. CGR decat... THE MUST upgrade... forget sports cat. bla bla bla... for performance and loudness: 3 inch all the way, resonator removed as well. you don't want to be next to the engine when that heat build up around the massive euro5 cat converter... (akrapovich is just marketing, no real match for a custom build CGR decat) ! - find a decent remap guys and enjoy circa 300hp if your engine and trans. box are healthy of course to manage all good
Thanks for the advice. I think I will stick with the standard air box. I already have the BMC filter and the padding removed. The dv I think I’ll sell. I’ll get the intercooler. I’m sure you’re right about the Wagner but there’s an Airtec GB so can’t turn down the savings there and I’m only getting the stage 1 cooler. Maybe I will keep the decat. Certainly cant get the full CGR exhaust, too much money. And I kind of like the Akra I have. Hoping a decat with the Akra will be a good combo..... So the plan then, maybe, is intercooler, decat, and a moderate map. Maybe.
Thanks Jamie, decat and intercooler seem like a good plan? Sell the DV? How much power do you think I’d be aiming at? I live near EFI. I believe you used them and rate them...?
EFI is the only place I'd take mine for mapping now. Power wise on his dyno you'll see 300-320, stock turbo won't really do over 320 on his dyno.
Don't be fooled into thinking peak figures are all that though, the curve and delivery is far more important
let's not deny the free flow , and the fact that you are helping your turbo to "breathe easier" ,so yes, 3 inch is a very good idea in general for a turbo car with a very restricted oem exhaust setup
But it isn't needed, by any stretch of the imagination. The restriction is the cat and to an extent the stock flexi but that's a minimal. That's stock exhaust, Tuner advised there was little to zero gains to be had in switching to a 3" system and not to waste my money.
So , you are telling me that the massive cat. is releasing some 50hp with a decat, despite the smaller oem exhaust diameter ( i'm leaving the other 50 to FMIC and air filter eventually ) ?
