Just wondering if anyone has had this fitted on there 250? If so has it made any noticeable difference. I've got a slight clunk noise coming when I change gear, and with my service coming up later this month I'm debating getting this fitted too. Any comments on it would be great thanks!
I have two of these on mine, One for the lower dogbone mount and it also fits and replaces the upper rear engine mount. Loads more vibration and noise but the whole car feels a lot tighter with them
According to there website "This is a direct replacement for the original equipment bottom engine torque link. It substantially reduces engine movement improving handling and gear selection." Costs £110 +vat. Not sure if it's worth getting or not, mainly want to get rid of the annoying clunk noise when changing gear.
Would you say there are worth the money jamie? Thinking of getting just the one for now, did you have any clunking noises when changing gear before you fitted yours?
I also have one of these. Quality item. Not a massive increase in NVH, has taken away some of the gearbox "slap"

I had one of these Vibratechnic mounts fitted by RS tuning a few months ago to my 265 with 29,000 miles on the clock. I was trying to silence the gear change noise the same as yourself. It has made the gear change slightly more positive and added a small bit more vibration however it didn't silence the gear change noise, not even slightly. I genuinely don't think I would have noticed the difference if it was fitted without me knowing! I did however notice the engine mount that was taken out was in really good condition so perhaps If your engine mount(s) coming to the end of its life it will make a more noticeable difference like Jamie has described above. Id be interested to see if the engine mounts were revised slightly between the 250 / 265?? So in my case: Would i get it installed again to silence the gear change noise: 100% no Would i get it installed to improve its driveability: Probably not unless the mounts were shot
As above I have one fitted and didn't notice any difference in vibration or how it felt to drive... Jamie is it the same item you have fitted up top? I measured it up and it looked too long to replace the upper stabiliser...?
Yep same one Ben, Plenty over on the Aus forums that have done it as well. Im waiting on some 85 shore pourable polyurethane to arrive as well so i can update the rest of the mounts for cheap since there is no uprated items out at the moment
Ok sort of in 2 minds whether to get this done or not now. Main reason I'm wanting it done is to remove the gearbox clunk you get while changing gear, If this doesn't solve that, does anybody know what causes it and how it can be fixed?
A bit off topic, but where do you get that from?.. I need some to use as electronics potting compund.. cheers..
I think it might just be how these gearboxes are at slow speed. Im going to get the gearbox oil changed at its next service anyway to see if that helps. I only really notice the noise with the window down and the car is cold, is that the same with yours?

Another thing to note is that the standard bottom mounts are prone to snapping I believe, my car has only done 15000 miles and when I took my standard mount out the rubber had already started to crack. And with a track day next month I didn't fancy taking the chance.
Bit of a thread bump here - I always wondered if you could fit this instead of the upper rear engine mount, as it looks exactly the same I need a new one and insure if I go £70 for a OEM one or £120 for a Vibratechnic one... Don't fancy any increase in vibrations, been there and done it in my last 182
a bit of a refresh on this topic... I have no idea if mine upper one is worn enought to be changed, but i prefer to change it now, and not worry in the near future... and yes i also have the cold gearbox/oil clicking noise at low speeds, i guess it's due to the cold temp. of the oil, since the noise is quite gear-ish as in "internal friction" , so i don't think gearbox mount would change that...
I’ve just put in new debit engine and gearbox mounts with black series inserts. Also fitted the 2 Evol engineering dog bones. It’s like sitting in a beehive now at low rpm but it feels so sharp and tight. Literally zero engine movements on acceleration deceleration and gear change is silk.
How easy was this to fit? Got one sat in the box somewhere, just never got around to fitting it. Many Thanks
It’s pretty easy to change. Just a bit awkward trying to get the old one out but after some trial and error it comes out easy enough. New one squeezes in just fine. As for engine vibrations. I noticed the first time I got in after installing it. But day to day I’ve forgotten about it. Glad I did it. I’ve got the upper engine mount bush to do now. I just haven’t got round to it. I definitely recommend the gearbox mount link though.
