Evening all! Got into the money pit this evening, started up as normal, drove about 50 metres then ABS and traction control warning lights lit up, followed by the message Electrical Fault on the dash. Car drove perfectly, once stopped I started it up again, the warning lights were clear, and again after a very short distance, they were lit and the message on dash appeared again. Has this happened to anyone else? If so...any ideas? Cheers, Si Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Come on!!!!! Someone must've had this! I feel like running the fucking thing into a field a torching the bastard!!! I'd love to meet the twat that designed the R26, I reckon he was off his head on a combination of shit French red, a big bag of weed and crack cocaine. Who the fuck designs a car where you have to take the battery, the battery tray and the ECU out just to get to the fuse box?! Shear fucking genius! Garlic eating fucking arse wiper! Yes! I'm wound up! If I thought it was appropriate on the forum I'd use harsher words to describe the "person" who "designed" this "car"! Fuck!!!! The electrics are shit, you get a bastard lake filling the passenger foot well, the swivel bearings will last about 3 miles, it rattles like a bloody American snake, the build quality could only be matched by a stoned monkey putting together a Lego set, the wheel offset is mind blowing......etc, etc, etc! I could go on and on, but..... I love it! Fucking money pit! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
!!!!!!!!!!!! [emoji51] Originally that's what I thought mate, but I've had an ABS sensor fault before and it showed the ABS and traction control warning lights but never the " Electrics Fault " warning message. And indeed, that time a new ABS sensor cured it. I've had a look online regarding the dash warning, and the majority of people say to check the fuse box, and the circuit board for water ingress and corrosion. Finally got it all apart and I can't see anything remotely wrong with any of it! Now it's all apart I'm changing all the fuses as we speak and making sure all the connections are good. I'm thoroughly cleaning everything as I go, hopefully that'll be the end of it. Failing that, when I get it all back together tomorrow, I'll be ordering another set of ABS sensors. Fingers crossed! Also check all the pins and plugs carefully, the plug pins spring apart so don't make a very good contact
That's a very valid point mate, think I've checked pretty much everything, and all, amazingly, were pretty tight. It was a bit of a nightmare removing plugs from fuse box as everything was so tight! Circuit board looks good to me, no corrosion or any obvious signs of water ingress, but I gave it a spray with WD40 and a very light brush to give it a quick clean and dried off using workshop paper towel stuff. Just changed all the fuses, couldn't find any knackered ones, but all replaced anyway. Will put it all back together in the morning while keeping every digit crossed! Now gotta focus all my energy on catching my daughter's 5 month old rabbit that is currently running around my back garden, and attempting to put him in his house for the night. Not sure which is more frustrating......the bloody rabbit or the money pit! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
well you get to a certain point and then give up, had enough of my inferno engine has been out 5 times in less than a year got to that stage its going, the 265 is great atm
I wish I could afford to get shot of it, but I've spent too much on it so far. It owes me quite a bit shall we say! Not only that, I do enjoy it, but Christ, are they frustrating as I'm sure you know! I hope your 265 proves less problematic and costly! I keep telling myself that once I've forged the engine and got the relevant "other bits" and it's running 400+, then I'll be happy! Time will tell! But for the time being.....fingers crossed for tomorrow!!! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
