R26.R suspension

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by paul_sbt, Jan 16, 2014.

  1. Ok so i'm still in the search of lowering/suspension upgrade options, now i was thinking of the R26.R dampers and springs (if they fit a 225 that is) instead of the long wait for Cooksport springs, an even when they come in stock i'm not sure if they willing to post them abroad! So has anyone gone this route or even driven a R26.R compared to standard 225 setup?

  2. You will be better with Cooksport springs , R26.R suspension is around 2k, cheaper to buy Coilovers

  4. I know the R set-up is tweaked over standard in term of spring and damping rates to suit the lighter car, but are the components in themselves anything special? They don't look very trick...

  5. very good. With 30 levels of adjustment you can have them very soft.

When they first came out people said the spring rates were too soft but that's been addressed now. Everyone I sell them too are happy with them and not just on Meganes.

  6. Might be something for me to think about then...

If you are after R26.R suspension I will have a complete set off a 17k mile car very soon, they'll be available for sale in a week or so along with other parts.

Like a carbon bonnet split in half and a set of fucked and split alloys?

  9. delivery to Netherlands is extra. You can select European delivery on the website

No that Anna has their ip now blocked. Still makes me laugh as we know who it is...

  13. Lol I moderate on another forum and it makes me giggle when you know the one or two ip addresses people use and where they are posting from. Usernames hide nothing.

  15. Better safe than sorry, they seem to be full of it

  16. I'm sure mark black is selling a carbon bonnet, I'm off to see him tomorrow lunch time , I'll take a look at it , I might buy it myself and keep it as a spare.

Lol @ telling someone there's a bonnet for sale but just throwing out that you'll buy it for a spare too.

  18. This seems a bit mean ha ha

  19. Can't beat having a few spares, lol no not for me mate, it's a good price though surprised it's not gone yet

  20. I imagine spares being bulbs exhaust hangers etc not full body panels your garage must be huge mate

  21. No mate I'm only joking I won't be buying it, I'm seeing mark tomorrow though so I'll have a look at it

  22. What couloir is your r Steve I'd love a carbon bonnet but unfortunately. Y budget won't stretch that far ATM I've got a shopping list for next month of tax cooksports cat back exhaust and remap which adds up to over 1000 quid plus my missus wants me to save 1500 quid by March for the house deposit I'm serious hard saving unless I get offered bargains lol

  23. My R is white mate

  24. Are u r26r Steve off ms ?

  25. I sure am

  26. Out of interest, and following from my comment above, does anyone know what dampers/springs are used on the R? i.e. who makes the springs and dampers. Are they different units or just different spring and damper rates?

  27. Eibach make the springs for the .R, they cant sell them unless its via Renault. Cant remember if its KYB or Bilstein that make the shocks, but same conditions apply...

    Different damper and spring rates.

  28. And let me guess, Renault sell them for a small fortune?

  29. 200ish a shock absorber and the same for a spring, so your around £1600 for suspension!

i was going to change to them, but i can buy high end coilovers for this price, so ill get new r26 shocks (£60each) and cooksport springs.

  30. Wow. Still less that those Sachs units on the Clio Trophy though!
I hope I don't need to replace a damper any time soon!

  31. If you did you would be better off buying a set of R26 dampers , you would notice no difference mate

  32. And I'm sure it would still sit the same
