Service Hard?

  1. Hi gents

Looking to do a 75k service on the rs265. Paying for cambelt, water pump etc etc next month. Was gona get gen parts and do the service myself, spark plugs etc with it. Is it a fairly straight forward job? Is there a guide for rs’s? I know the spark plug gap is 0.6 right?

No, the cambelt needs genuine Renault locking tools otherwise you'll more than likely fudge it and it'll be a ticking time bomb.

  3. I got engine dynamics doing the cambelt etc. Just the oil, filter and spark plugs I was looking to do

    Ahh sorry, misread.

Yeah it’s fairly straight forward then if you have basic knowledge. Plugs should come pre gapped as well as long as you get the correct NGK ones.

  5. Make sure you re gap them

  6. I was gona get the genuine ones of Renault parts direct??

  7. you will need to find way of removing any grit thats fallen down plug hole and sitting around plug otherwise will fall into engine as soon as remove plug. Garage use hi pressure air line.

Some folk when fitting cam belt etc insist on changing oil as well, assume you're getting de-phaser pulley done same time and that is oil pressure driven so new oil is part deal, check with Andy at ED thats not the case

  8. Yeah mate must be as I’m going for full lot, dephaser, water pump etc too
