Clutch and gearbox strenght

  1. Rs265 2013 start/Stop cup chassis. How well can the standard clutch and gearbox take the 300bhp and the 410nm touque that a remap gives you?

Clutch is fine at the moment but it’s on 73k, a lot of motorway miles originally by all accounts, I’m worried that if I get a remap il be closely followed by a clutch. Wondering if it’s worth doing the clutch first incase.

  2. I have a RS 250, Cup Pack running 321bhp on the original standard clutch and gearbox and touch wood all is good.

  3. That’s good to know mate, how old is the clutch? Have you had your cambelt done yet?

  4. I have just ticked over 66k. Had belts done end of last year by specialist. Has Pro alloy FMIC with turbo cooler, Forge Recirc valve, induction kit, center box delete and was mapped at RS Tuning.

  5. I’m on 73k and can’t proove it’s had cambelt so thinking of doing cambelt and remap at the same time at engine dynamics, it’s a Renaultsport specialist and it’s only up the road from me, £740 I think I was quoted for all belts etc. And rolling road set up. I was gona remap it first but seems stupid not to make sure belts are done first as I only have the word of someone that they were done

  6. It had fsh but was a company directors car, they had the service book etc and the Renault dealer know it was there but they can’t pull the records now to what exactly was done, just that it was there for servicing

  7. If your getting it mapped definately worth having the belts done for peace of mind if no history. Engine Dynamics know their stuff and you know the timing will be spot on. Can't remember off top of my head who did the belts on mine.

  8. Just looked. Was Midlands Renaut Specialists that did belts, dephaser, water pump and from there went across to RS Tuning to be set up. Made 321bhp and 360lb ft torque.

  9. Nice power that mate! Yeah will wait a month or two and get it all done at engine dynamics
