I had a 197 this week which was a none start,
I stripped the belt off and found the exhaust cam timing was miles out,
Removed the plugs for further inspection and noticed a problem!!

    Here's the final outcome

Think with the valve seats re-cut and a skim it'll be fine!

  7. I wish enough I knew enough about engines to know if this is a joke or not feel free to point me in the right direction lol

Nothing a tenner can't fix that.

  11. Is that a bomb. Just slowly leave it and run. Sorry for you but you need to rebuild whole engine back.

  12. Who's 197 was it? Surprises me that the F4R has been about for 14 years in RenaultSports and yet some 'specialists' still can't grasp the ability to correctly time it.

  13. well i said to mark today ive worked here 13 years and never ever seen one like that!

  14. That looks a right mess. New head am guessing?

First 197 I've heard of doing that. Seen dozens of 172s and k4ms though. Shitty valves

Looks like the aux belt was fitted wrong, it's not sat on the pullies square so it's shredded and jumped the timing, all the valves are bent and one has broken off!
There's tip ex everywhere and it wasn't timed with locking tools!!!!
I've spoke to the garage who did it and they said it was done right and it could have been caused by debris!!!!! Bull shit
