Been quoted £685 to change a head gasket on my 225. Does that sound about right ?. And what should i expect with that. New cam belt and water pump etc ? should i be asking them to check anything else while its striped down. ?
Is it definitely head gasket? What’s the issue? I’ve been told head gaskets on F4r’s are uncommon issues.
Seems a little pricey to me, do you know what parts are included? If that is including a new cam belt kit and water pump id say its fair, if not they are advisable to be changed at the same time, as could save you a big bill later!
loss of water in the header tank and milky oil on the dip stick. the level has risen. car runs fine though apart from a lumpy start from cold for a few seconds.
Is the engine warning up quickly? I bet it’s not. Mine was diagnosed as a thermostat housing seal and replaced the thermostat at the same time. Sorted the issue and had exactly the same issues as you mentioned. Warms up in no time now.
