    Hi,

Does anyone know if the Megane RS 250 comes with a multiplate clutch as standard? Bought the car recently and the previously owner said they come standard in all RS models and because it is a mutiplate clutch the biting point is low and it bites hard. Thanks

  2. Someone will explain better, but the standard clutch isn't a paddle clutch and the bitepoint isn't low at all.

Pic of my old clutch that came off my car if it helps.

    Let's hope that I haven't bought a lemon

  4. Mine is quite quick to bite but I would say that it bites about a third to halfway up the pedal. I have just assumed the fact it bites very quickly is just characteristic of the car? Or am I wrong?

  5. Sorry I'm slow on the reply. I've had three clutches in my Megane and all have had the bitepoint at the top of the pedal and hasn't bitten hard. When the clutch failed the bitepoint slowly dropped until it was on the floor.

I was thinking about installing a paddle clutch on mine but apparently its difficult to drive and I didn't want to stray too far from being good for road use. Hence me thinking it may be a paddle clutch from the sounds of it. Like I said, there's some knowledgeable guys on here that will better advise, hopefully the bump will get them on this post.

  6. the clutch is a standard clutch, single plate and no paddle, AP does a paddle single plate for the N4 (rally car) but as standard no paddle nor multiplates

My clutch feels the most similar to this. The guy who sold the car to me said they come standard on all RS models, I think he meant dual mass flywheel instead but some how he said mutiplate clutch.
According to Marc our clutches don't have a lot of life left?
    Thanks for replying guys
