Hey! This is jsut copied over from the other forum.Well after owning the 172 for 3 years i decided i wanted a change so went the popular Megane route... . After owning it a few weeks i bought a modified short shifter which is a popular mod, it's amazing how it transforms the gear changes. and a few of the other parts thats came this week Little update got the plates and bolts fitted Ignore the discs i just washed the car. Got my handles skinned in carbon fibre Got my pillars coverd by Austin And i also got some R26.R wheels Got my cooksport springs fitted the other week. Ignore the no front splitter, need to find some strong glue to keep it on! only a couple of pictures. and after a clean.
Yeah i need to take some recent photo's, car hasnt been washed in months! This happened the other week also, c**t left no note! So need to fork out to get that sorted
Shame about the scratch, otherwise looking very tidy! Can you let me know where you take it and what the colour match is like when it is done please - my front bumper and bonnet need a respray.
Who did your door handle dipping and also where did you get the RS center caps from, they look great .
Handles are skimmed in carbon, cost £100 from C6Carbon, not a fan dipped stuff just doesnt look right IMO. Centre caps i got from renault (not cheap!) and they only come in black.
Preston Farm Body and Paint did mine! Mike and Brian know their stuff! They rectify paint on brand new vehicles from some of the prestigious dealerships in the area. I am very fussy and to get LY right was always going to be a worry when I had the side done. I need not of worried as these guys did a fantastic job. However they did say it was a pain in the a*** due to the three stage process. Three days it took, said he could of done the same work on a Range Rover in one day! They have their own site. I wanted my calipers doing but they don't do them unfortunately so I took it to a place in Long Eaton. They too did a superb job.
lovely car pal, who/where did you get the A pillars done? looks great and how much if you dont mind? terrible to see someone scratched it and fcked off, i hate that
Cheers Simon, I have sent them a message, they seem very good going off the website! Just hope you haven’t put them off doing LY again Pillars are from streamline carbon http://streamlinecarbon.com/v2/prod...y-r26/megane-225trophyr-26-door-pillar-trims/ Not cheap mind, and they have to be bonded on.
That looks absolutely mint ! Cracking looking car. Preston Farm get my vote too, my Mrs smashed the front of my old R26 and they did a superb job of sorting it out, mine was black though so not as much of a nightmare as LY
I had them powder coated in that colour, the .R wheels only come in black or red. Black ones are about £20 per wheel cheaper for some reason aswell!
Nope, the wheels were brand new when they got powder coated. I thought about putting them on but I’ve had black wheels in the past and they are a pain to keep clean!
What a lovely motor. Would not last 5 minutes outside my house without someone vandalising it. Where did you get the handles wrapped in carbon fibre. I want to do something similar to my tired door handles.
hey Karl didnt mean the B post , ive already got mine done ill be atrting a WIP soon on mine i ment the A post interior suede trim job bu the windscreen, looks really well
I got the handles done by http://www.c6carbon.com/ Unsure on the code as i just picked the colour off a card. I got them done at this place though. http://wheeltech.org.uk/ Sorry my bad! i got them done by Austin on the other megane forum, http://www.meganesport.net/community/forumdisplay.php?163-Alcantara-Austin Unsure if he still uses that forum though, but he's still active on cliosport.net. Number plates are from here http://www.demonplates.com/ 3D Carbon.
I just assumed they were reps because they had no recaro logo, but after looking at the pic again the quality looks too good for reps. Nice buy. I was planning on putting some in my R26. I have some pics of them fitted if you're interested?
Those seats look fantastic! Definately a better looking seat than the trendlines and look like they offer alot more support. It should be fun getting subframes made for them.
It took me hours of searching to find these and they're not the best pics but it'll give you some sort of idea.
Pleeeease figure out how to make subframes that tilt with these seats, I'm desperate to stick em in mine!
