Mid box delete

  1. Found the mid box delete pipe on the bay, £45 with clamps, is it as simple as cut the mid box out and fit that one?? Surely easy enough to do?

  2. Yep, should be pretty straight forward

  3. Keep in mind though, my local exhaust place only charged me £50 to do a mid box delete. That was for the pipe, fitting and even blowing it over with VHT paint. Worth checking out. Much easier than laying on the floor and doing it yourself lol

  4. Why paint it? Should be using stainless steel for that price.

  5. To protect from corrosion. Used mild as it was welded in rather than clamped.

  6. Fair enough then mate, £50 isn’t out the way for that then [emoji1303]

  7. Not bad payment for 30 minutes work :tearsofjoy:

  8. I’m having a nightmare with this, no one seems to want to do it around my way! Looks like I will have to buy the part of Ebay for £45 then get it fitted, is the standard bore 2.5inch?

  9. Where have you tried? its a piece of piss job, god knows why they wont do it. You must have a powerflow or Longlife exhausts type place near by? they are all over the place, where abouts are you?

  10. Colchester Essex mate, couple places were like yeah but wanted £120+ for it

  11. 260841085844 Was thinking bout getting this Ebay item, then all they need is the labour to do it and not charge me for a whole length of pipe

  12. Have you tried Viper Exhausts 4 xtreme performance or Pro Fusion?

  13. Pipecraft in Basildon did mine for £50 cash.

  14. Powerflow at Elmsett (Near Hadleigh Suffolk) will weld in a piece of stainless tube for £70 cash FYI. I am using the £45 eBay part purely because I haven't got the time to head up there. I am doing mine in the next week or so

  15. Hadleigh ain’t far from me could pop in at the end of the day will give them a call tomorrow and book it in!

  16. Thinking about having my mid box removed (R26). I've seen the youtube videos and the cars do sound a bit tractory on tickover. Is that the case or do the videos exaggerate that? What's it like driving normally at medium revs?
My car seems too quiet so I'd like a little more noise and to also lose the referees whistle!
