I really hate the unpainted plastic lip on the front bumper. Has anyone painted theres? I've even looked at splitters but none of them seem to cover it up.
It's easy to remove (here I go again). I've removed mine and painted it a number of times. It's a magnet for bugs and chips though. Either buy the Elia front lip (which comes with it built in), or just wrap it or something that resists chips.
Oh no not another one of your easy to remove! Is it screwed or glued on? Yeah, looks a lot better painted, I do have some wrap. Not sure how my wrapping skills are.
Should be easy to plastikote or wrap, it's quite small when it's off the car but you might want to sand it smooth as it's textured. You need to ideally have the bumper off for ease but it's undertray off (mine is permanently off) and then I think it's just clipped in and a few of those circular metal ring/staple things. I removed them and cable tied it on instead. So probably not easy to remove in the first instance Although I swear the door handle is easy and on mine the hook to pull the retaining mech for barrel was DOWN not UP!
If you can get the car high enough yes! Yeah, that's my other project...always wanted one, tracked it down in Denmark.
Getting confused with Plastidip and the brand Plastikote. I think the lip needs something tough, mine was chipped in about 2 days and has sustained 4-5 other impacts since.
Yes it is, V6 Trophy racer...all kind of trick bits on it, running 320hp. I always over paint stuff, so the splitter had 4 coats base and 3 coats of halfrauds clear....stones just took it apart.
Did you get a turbo on it? Love the V6 Clios! Oh, that's a shame, I'm not using Halfords, don't know how good that is.
I doubt Halfords paint is as good as it could be I suppose? I think wrapping would be better though for resilience. The Clio is n/a, it's just been tuned a bit at some point in its life. It's had other mods such as a secondary ecu (to piggyback the Magneti one), pas, Ohlins 2 way dampers, custom wishbones etc. I love the thing to bits.
Me too...only driven it on the rollers in Denmark when I bought it, it's been in bits at Mark Fish since.
I have been thinking about spraying mine, but as you said earlier, they take so much abuse, even if you spray with propper paint and top coat, they still wont last long. Warping i should think will be a bit better, but looking at the wrap on the roof of my car, even that takes a beating
