Service time looming and I need to get some plugs for the car. KTec said something about custom gapping them for the car as it has the hybrid stage 2 turbo (or whatever), 60lb injectors and is running 350hp/350lbft. Can someone tell me the best plugs for the car? I used to run 'colder grade' plugs in the past on my Jap cars but god knows now... Help
Stock plugs are fine when gapped to 0.6,they are fussy with plugs and ime all the other ones I've tried in it it hadn't liked them
Ok so Jamie and T&biskits, what do I buy and from where? Want to know I'm buying the right thing and do not want to have to buy something and then have it gapped!
Got mine from Green Spark Plug company, (clubmem10) is a discount i used, about £30 delivered. These are the grade RS tuning fitted when mapping mine. NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug BKR8EIX (2668)
But did you then gap them? Why on earth do they have to be gapped post buying? Don't like the sound of that!
Its because the from factory theyre gap that way, but tuners have found they run better especially tuned on a smaller gap. Dont see the issue, a piece of piss to do.
If you were an anal sort of car person, then it would never hurt to always double check the gaps on the plugs are right, even at factory settings Yes 0.6
after power upgrade and larger injectors (630) its common for the fuel flow to extinguish the flame with factory set plug gap reducing to .6mm gives a smaller but stronger spark helps solve this issue, also running a cooler plug 8 rather than factory 7 helps keep thing cooler
