  4. Which model do you have?

  5. running a hybrid. Garret is out of my price range lol

  6. Is there any links to turbos for sale? Would a Garret be a better option than hybrid?

    Completely depends on what you want, Im waiting for my kit still (and have been for quite some time) but hoping it will be worth the wait, Ill be posting the progress on that up whenever I get it.

    Garrett gtx3071r seems to be / was the most common upgrade from the hybrid, and its a pretty big step up too. Have heard of one or two running 3076r and that size is probably getting to the end of road usability with low end power depending on housing sizes.

    Borg Warner EFR equivilants are arguably better than the Garrett GTX range.

    Garrett also have the new G25 series 550 and 660 turbos :sunglasses::mask:

    All these will require manifold and downpipe work so any turbo can be used really by that stage, most come with choices of internal or unwastegated so that also gives you the option of running one externally. Assuming you spec your engine and fueling to suit it, anything can be done.

  11. So I'm attempting to do some research into this. Have you received your kit yet? And which one is it?

    KTec don't seem to do the whole kit but it seems you can still purchase the exhaust manifold and dump pipe. I asked RS Tuning if they would just sell the exhaust manifold and dump pipe without the turbo and wastegate but they said "no". The reason I asked was because I wasn't sure if the GTX3071 is too big for my application so should I be looking at something smaller?

    My application is for the circuit. So outright peak power is not what I'm after. I need something that comes on boost low in the rev range and continues flat until redline without dropping off like the standard turbo.

    Also, do our cars need a reverse rotation turbo to fit?

    I recieved my kit in the last two weeks, made some posts while fitting it that might interest you, think its page 7 here;

    Fairly sure ktec are not offering even the manifold now, I believe the company they where using for the fabricating has closed (I may be wrong of course)

    I have the kit through RStuning, except with the new Garrett G25-550 (not to be confused with the GT25 or GTX25) I think this turbo series will be making the GTX series a thing of history.

    Do you want to drop me a PM I am happy to help if I can :smile:

    Me too! Not sure if I want to push it, but im pretty confident 450 is easily achievable, with a better spread of power at lower rpm than with the GTX

  16. Is it a reverse rotation turbo? I’m just trying to better understand the position of the outlet of your compressor in your build thread.

    Mine is standard rotation, but the G25 is available in reverse also I believe.
    The turbo manifold is centred with the exhaust outlets, but as its slightly longer than the OE turbo the compressor side sits over further, not really a problem just means you have to adapt the way the boost piping runs as going between the two coil packs as OE is not really possible :blush:
