My first RS250 Cup

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by AaronRS, Jul 24, 2017.

  1. Hello everyone. My name is Aaron, and I'm from the West Midlands. After deciding that it is now time to buy our first home, my beloved Mk2 Focus RS had to go. I have owned two of them, and adore them. But needs must.

I wanted a car that I would be proud to own, and would deliver a lot of the thrills my RS' delivered. After a lot of thought, and driving numerous car's, I decided to buy a Megane RS250 with Cup chassis.

A white, low mileage example popped up on auto trader. So naturally, I called the dealer and arranged a viewing. It was perfect for what I wanted.

Had the RS250 Cup now for just over a week, and I already love it. I was lucky enough to find one in the exact spec I wanted. White, Cup chassis, Recaro's and Nav.

So bright and early last Sunday morning, we made the two hour trip to Huddersfield to collect the car.

It was in excellent condition as described by the dealer. An hour later, after a test drive and discussing price, she was mine.

The long drive back was an absolute pleasure, and she looks ace on the driveway.

Anyway, here's a picture took at the dealership:

Gave her a quick bath to remove all the dead flies and dirt from the drive home:

Onto the lovely Recaro's. Absolutely love these seats. So glad I bought one with them already fitted:

First couple of little bits done to the car. Gloss black Renault badges front and rear, and Rhino lip front splitter. Also, added my number plate:

It has been modified by the previous owner. This doesn't bother me, as all the bits that have been done, is what I wanted to do anyway. So it has saved me money and hassle.

She has an Airtec intercooler, ITG induction, H&R lowering springs and a 3" custom exhaust. Im pretty sure its decatted too, but I haven't checked as of yet.

I am also sure its been mapped, as it really does fly. It bangs, pops and crackles like crazy. I simply love how it goes and sounds.

Plenty of plans for the car to come. But firstly, I want to see what she is running. A trip to the rollers is on the cards very soon.

Anyway, hope you've enjoyed a little look at my new car.

  2. I would say looks good but.... :tongueout: Photobucket have ruined everyones lives, you may want to try Imgur or Flicker

  3. Amended, what a pain haha

  4. Looks nice and has the essentials done already. How does it compare to the Focus? That's a car I've always fancied but never had an opportunity to drive!

  5. Nice car mate, had 2 focus RS's before too and these cars are just as fun with all the drama with the pops and bangs too.

  6. The Mk2 RS will always be one of my favourite all time cars. Theyre just epic in every way. So far, the megane is a cracking little car. The noise it makes, the way it handles and drives make it a very good contender for the RS. Time will tell if I grow to love it more

  7. Thanks mate. So far so good. Big thumbs up for the Megane

  8. Agree with you there, my ultimate green focus RS is probably my all time favourite car and i've had a few. Awesome, still looks good 7 years on. Future classic and the prices show that.
Megane is a bit special in its own right too and at current prices it's hard to find something that's as fun to drive. Bang for you're buck spot on!

  9. That looks absolutely wicked and good spec too, ITG make much induction noise?

  10. I have an ITG intake on mine and it makes plenty of noise. Have a forge dump valve fitted with a blue spring and it sounds amazing, only dumps on full boost and lower down you get plenty of chatter/flutter when lifting off. Sounds really good coming through the intake.

  11. Yeah loads of noise haha. Many sexual turbo noises

  14. Nice motor fella. Where did you get your black Renault badges from and are you pleased with them nearly a year on?
