Good evening, Are the brakes on a standard R26.R any good on track? After having a GT3 with 6 pots and pagid 29's, i never got any fade at all.. Just wondering if after a few laps is there any fade? If so, what pads should I upgrade too? Thanks, Dan
Hi Dan if you want a great set up go for HC plain discs £69 and DS 1.11 pads , they will never ever fade along with good fluid
Do bears poo in woods? Lol, massive amount of talk on this already mate. I use HC plain brembos and ds 2500 pads which is enough for me on track. A lot more aggressive pads out there
Fluid is the main thing, get some decent fluid in. i also used ds2500 on track, much better than std but nowhere near the rc6 pad from carbon lorraine
Its better a dot 4. Like castrol,ap,ebc,motul....with pfc 330mm discs and brake lines. pads try hawk dtc60 or performance fricion pf01.
I've got the PF 330 big brake kit on my R Dan, no need for it though, purchase what I've said Dan , pads from jjc race and rally , discs from amazon I think , I use ate blue fluid , £12 per liter , discs £69 , pads £150.
Honestly Dan no need to spend stupid money, what I've said is a massive proven upgrade and used on the Clio cup race cars and also by josh cook on his race megane
Wasn't there a that somewhere where someone suggested the blue was old tech fluid and that there was much better available now?
I was more interested in the thought behind the fluid technology as I'm sure we all want the best, I shall do some searching!
Technology ? It's brake fluid, it's for a Renault Megane not an F1 car no need to spend time reading all sorts of reviews, it's proven to work and when all said and done it does the same job as all the rest.
Hardly making a big deal about it...... Fyi blue stuff is old tech, much better fluids out there now. A lot of people run it because it's dirt cheap and easy to do a full flush
