any ideas I have just noticed today when my clutch is not pressed (is that disengaged?) and in neutral I can hear a strange slight knocking noise and then when I press it in (engaged?) it disappears?? Any ideas?
Yeah, they all have dual mass as a standard part. May be worth just looking at changing the flywheel, clutch and slave if it turns out to be one of the two.
To be honest you can probably (I say that loosely) drive 1000s of miles without it damaging anything else. I guess there is chance of it causing damage to gearbox and bottom end / mains. Neither would be worth the risk.
