What with all this rain, I've noticed that water is leaking into the car from the r/h/s top corner of the windscreen/a-pillar. Question is, has anybody else had this and managed to work out how it's getting in? It's bad enough that there is water on the drivers seat sometimes, and I'm sure more of it will be running down the pillar trim to corrode anything it comes into contact with. Everything looks okay, the same as the near side which doesn't leak, and I can't see that the glass has been replaced at any point.
This - it seems to be a factory issue on some of them, Mine was on the original screen and the glass fitter showed me how much sealant was missing on the original!
Right - got in tonight and it's worse than ever, water all over the seat. Cars not even 6 years old FFS. Ordered this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350975517648?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 it's flowable silicone sealant. I'll try to re-seal it myself. Failing that, smash the windscreen and claim on insurance? (joking) Whilst scouting around I stumbled upon this site: http://www.clean-image.co.uk/car-water-leak.htm excerpt from above site [h=4]Top Leaky Cars[/h] Renault ~ Clio, Espace, Scenic Landrover ~ Discovery Peugeot ~ 106, 207, 306, 307, 406 MG ~ ZR Fiat ~ Punto, Uno, Multipla, Bravo, Brava Alfa-Romeo ~ 147, 156, GTV Saab ~ 9-3, 9000, 900, Toyota ~ Rav4 Vauxhall ~ Corsa*, Astra, Vectra, Citoren ~ Saxo Mitsubishi ~ Pajero Audi ~ A4, TT, A8 Porsche ~ Boxter BMW ~ X5 Volkswagen ~ Beetle, Golf I know the Megane isn't on there but it bloody well should be
